This has enough to split into many mini-kits, so it's cost effective.I actually prefer plastic levers, and 3 of them, because I feel they run less risk of damaging rims or pinching tubes. But, my personal preferences aside, metal is objectively more expensive and "nicer."There are a lot of patches here, possibly a lifetime supply. If you want the glue to last that long you will have to keep it in a ziplock bag or even vacuum-sealed bag between uses; otherwise it will dry out once opened.

So I got this actually for the motorcycle to keep in a little location in case of an emergency and there’s a couple of things I noticed. The plastic box is kind of flimsy, so I’m keeping it in the bag that it came in. Yes you get the metal tire pullers but they’re very small. The rubber scrapers work but they take a limited amount of rubber off with what pressure you apply therefore I would advise you have gloves if the instance comes that you need to use this. You do get everything you need except the tubes of cement are kind of small. In a pinch these will definitely take care of the situation but I advise getting the tire replaced as soon as possible after you get home or wherever you need to be.

Good enough bike kit to get you going, at least for tire patches! Anyone remember how to use those, still? No? Well... OK then. These will be more than enough to help you get back home if the tire plugs you have don't work for patching the holes.

_____ The Good: ______* Lots of patches in three different shapes and sizes, all fairly standard for this type of kit. This is enough I won't need more patches for multiple years.* Includes three tubes of rubber cement. Unfortunately these do dry out, so I probably only get a single year out of these.* Includes both scraper and sandpaper, to give you two options for roughing up around the hole to increase adhesion.* Nice price for a kit with this many patches plus the other components____ The Bad: ____* The included tire levers are subpar, and more troublingly made from stainless steel. Thus they should not be used on any rim you care about, since they are easily capable of damaging rims. If you're just working on bikes your kids will outgrow next year, no big deal -- but if you ride as much as I do on bikes that cost anywhere near what mine do, please shell out for a set of Pedro's Tire Levers.* This larger bulk patch kit isn't ideal for carrying along on rides. I like to have a smaller, lighter mini kit with just a few patches in it when I'm on long rides. This is sized more for your workstand or glovebox

I got this set as I was changing over a tube on my road bike and the plastic tire levers I had broke with the super stiff side walls. The levers did the job and hopefully with the new rim tape, tube and sealant I won’t have to use the rest of the kit.Came with instructions which would be handy if you haven’t repaired a puncture before which unfortunately I’ve had to do a few too many times!

This is a comprehensive bike tube repair kit. Comes with a total of 30 self adhesive patches - 25 round and 5 slightly bigger rectangular ones - more than enough to last a lifetime (I'm hoping for not getting so many punctures at least for the foreseeable future). The two tire levers are truly hefty - I only use metal ones but what I have are aluminum whereas these are more solid metal. There are also three tubes of rubber glue and 4 each of metal rasps and sandpaper - I guess the rasps are for thicker inner tubes or even tires as sandpaper is usually enough for my bike tubes. All of this is contained in a flat clear plastic box with secure latches. Not sure about the "self vulcanizing" however - I thought vulcanizing means you have to apply heat but these are supposed to be self adhering without heat. Anyway it's so much more cost effective to patch punctures instead of buying new tubes all the time.

This tire repair kit stands out for sheer value among others for the metal tire levers and for the three (3) tubes of vulcanizing cement or fluid, in addition to a plethora of other inner tube repair material. Starting with the tire levers - this is something special, as most kits will only provide cheap nylon plastic levers, if at all. The metal tire levers aren't particularly ornate, but they're functional and get the job done, and they won't bend like cheap nylon ones. I'd personally wrap the metals ends with a bit of electrical tape to avoid marring rims, and I've be especially caution on carbon rims, but they do the job. Next, I like this repair kit for the fact that it has sandpaper (although metal files are there if you really REALLY want to use them) - sandpaper is less aggressive and does a good enough job of roughing up the inner tube surface for patching. The fact that it has 3 tubes of vulcanizing cement is a bonus for me, as my tubes always seem to dry up on me. The cement itself works, no complaints. Finally, the assortment of patches provided is functional. They're not the best patches out there, but they work. Overall, I'd give this repair kit 4.5/5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars - it's not the most glamorous kit out there, but for the value it's hard to beat.
