I was looking for a nativity for the brick mantle over my fireplace. I have a pretty basic sense of aesthetics—I like cast iron cookware, a like a simple leather Travelers Notebook, and I like a Blackwing pencil. Unfortunately most nativities are, how shall I put this, extremely ornate. Big figures, bold colors, ostentatious forms. So I looked around for a long while for something simple and elegant but not minimalist to the point of post modernism. This one hit the bill. The materials and rough-hewn shaping look handmade in the best way and the figures are clear and powerful. It fits well in my small space and could look incredible on a bookcase, shelf, or mantle or countertop.

The nativity is beautifully made, and understated.It evokes the significance of the Saviours birth, without all the commercialism of today.

I just love this nativity! I have a collection of about 90 sets and this one is different from any others I own. The modern styling is really interesting and evocative. The sand casting is a bit rough and there are a couple of scuffs on the surface, but it certainly isn't a big enough issue to be concerned. A wonderful addition to my collection.

This is so beautiful and I enjoyed all through the holidays. I am a metalsmith and do jewelry so very particular with anything metal. Have looked for something like this for years, streamlined and beautiful. Now I just wish they made animals, etc. to go with set. It's perfect, thank you.
