My girl is a chiweenie (a dachshund/chihuahua cross) with a long body, which makes it hard to find coats that fit right. This fits great, is easy to put on, and looks great!

This fits my 22lb. Cavalier perfectly. She cannot walk without wagging and she's long and so soft. When I've found a coat that fit, it would slide off to one or the other side. This one has straps and that she steps into that wrap around her back legs and a toggle that makes it snug. The chest and neck and back adjustments fit her well. The tab hole is more for a harness collar. Since it doesn't have a hood, I can just link her up around her neck collar. Even though she will do anything I want, she would dislike a hood. I really well dry her ears anyway due to spaniels' tendency to get ear infections. I also like that the inside is t-shirt material.

This rain jacket looks like it will be great it just needs ironing. The hole for the harness looks very small. I may need to have the harness on top. I ordered a medium because of my little guy's weight. It covers him well all the way to his tail.

It’s hard to know how to fit a dachshund for a rain coat. This one fit perfectly. The only comment I would add is that small breeds like a dachshund often have harnesses rather than leashes attached to collars, so I would take that into consideration when making these so the opening to a leash in the rain coat can accommodate the attachment for a harness. My dog still doesn’t love to go out in the rain, she is a dachshund after all, but this helps.
