We bought a black one of these a few years ago to protect an antique desk and it has held up extremely well. We recently bought an additional desk and ordered a brown one for it. It is the same quality as our first one.They arrive very nicely boxed.It may seem expensive but when we consider the cost of refinishing a desk, we think these are well worth the money.

Superb quality. Real leather around a thick 1/4" rigid back. Shipped in protective boxes. Far superior to anything else on the market. Easy to care for.

The 30x19 size is a challenge to find and the quality is superb.Use - My desk mat is used on a pullout shelf for my Mac mini and its devices while the monitor and speakers are on the desktop. The width of the desk mat had to be perfect to avoid contact with the side rail mechanisms.Look - The appearance is understated while being elegant and luxurious. Black top-grain leather surface, rigid internal core, and matching gentle felt backing. Seamless wrapped edges and gentle radius corners are added touches.Feel - Sturdy construction and weight helps it stay in place. Smooth flat surface for computer work. No longer need to use a wrist rest with the keyboard and trackpad.Value - The price is commensurate with the material and build quality. In other words, you get what you pay for. Boxed with extra care to protect it in transit. The rigid internal core maintains its shape during shipping and handling, plus it is ready-to-use when opened. Should provide lengthy service.

Super nice, Very firm but not hard like glass. I was looking for something to cover a textured desk that a mouse could move on could be written on, Size is prefect, works great!

Very heavy and good looking but I think the leather is only on the very surface, not fully leather inside.

Edit 01/03/2024:I've had this blotter about 1 1/2 years so I thought I'd update my review. I've used it hard, but it's essentially still like new. As long as I remember that it's not some sort of cutting board or workbench platform, I have no doubt that it will outlive me. I did have to put some two-sided tape under it to keep it in place. For writing (especially with fountain pens!), I couldn't desire a better surface. All in all, this is a well-crafted item and I would recommend it to anyone who's willing to pay more for quality.Yes, this blotter is ungodly expensive; there is no way I'd ever divulge how much I paid for it to my wife. But I previously had a real leather blotter for 20 years, and it looked like new right up until I stupidly ruined it with modeling glue. It was the best writing surface I ever encountered.I just wanted this blotter to be as good as my old one, so I was ecstatic to find that it was far better! It's three times as thick (it was shipped flat) and the edge finish is superb. Also, the color and leather smoothness was exactly as described.So, if you have a great desk and are willing to pay for the ultimate writing surface, this blotter is for you. If quality isn't important, there are plenty of blotters made with PU (fake) leather that cost a fraction of the price. You'll get what you pay for.

I ordered this because it was a bit oversized and I needed that coverage on my desk. This is beautiful, smooth, and nice black leather. It has no side rails, which I like, because I can put some items on the edge and there is no danger of tipping. The corners are rounded and the edging is smooth and just beautiful. It has a very nice, substantial "velveteen or felt like" backing and it lays completely flat: no curling or uneven surface, at all. It was shipped in a double box and was wrapped in some paper and plastic for protection, which I really appreciated. I do think it is overpriced, but I wanted a really nice blotter. This is it.

I'm very happy with the quality of this item.Is really solid. I thought was going to be something you could bend but that's not the case. This won't be moving around my desk when I work.

Wow.This thing speaks class and luxury, not yells, it’s a subtle addition that will provide a nice useable workspace. It’s very firm and does not dent or crease but has the slightest leather give, it’s perfect. The leather is soft yet firm, doesn’t Knick or scratch easily at all. It will not conform to uneven surfaces being that its held together by a solid fiberboard of some sort with a soft backing. However I have it on a reclaimed wooden desk and it works great. Subtle rounded edges is a nice touch and the leather is super smooth. Worth the premium price among a vast selection of cheaper options. If you want the best, this is it.
