First let me start by saying I only received half of the brackets with my order. (They are sending a new kit but of course I have to be inconvenienced to go do a return on the incomplete set) The self tapping screws were very difficult to use, I actually had to get a tap and die set to thread the holes these bolts are supposed to go into as the metal frame holes are very hard metal to just self tap. The brackets are very heavy steel and do seem durable once you are able to install them. This kit in my opinion would not be one that a novice would be able to easily just bolt on with my experience with it. (I’m not a novice) The one self tapping bolt I was able to get to start to self thread chipped the paint coating around the bolt hole considerably which I used touch up paint on to prevent rusting. My mower is a Cub Cadet ZTS1, and it is a brand new mower and was just delivered to me. It cost me 5k, so as you can imaging I was not happy with any chipping of any paint to install this kit. A re- design or including a proper tap to thread the holes accordingly would prove to be a much better approach to this application. It’s a must have though to install the weight kit on the front end of this model mower.
