Carpet Protection film that keeps floors clean and damage free while building, remodeling or painting. This self-adhering film does not shift and is highly resistant to tears.

Carpet Shield

Carpet Shield: The best temporary carpet protection you can buy. It is a clear, self-adhering carpet protection film. Carpet Shield is constructed of a special blend of polyethylene which is highly resistant to tears and punctures. Ideal during remodeling, painting and moving, it minimizes clean-up time and damage claims. Available in a variety of sizes, the larger rolls are reverse-wound for faster application.

Awful. It literally doesn't stick to the carpet. I was putting it on my stairs and even though I was really smoothing it out and pressing it into the carpet as I went, it was so loose and moveable that it didn't stay in place at all. I even did it a second time thinking it was a fluke but no, it's just not sticky enough. Very disappointed.

Purchased this product in 2020 to put down on a recently cleaned 1 year old carpet to protect it from foot traffic from prospective tenants for a one bedroom apartment. After removing it, there was a sticky residue left by the plastic film. I contacted the manufacturer who said that it can easily be removed by steam cleaning the carpet. The carpet cleaning company I use is certified by the carpet institute. When I contacted them, they were familiar with that problem and came to steam clean my already clean, sticky carpet at my expense. After it dried, it was still sticky. After contacting the carpet cleaning company, they came again at no charge and steam cleaned a second time with more aggressive, heavy duty chemicals. After the carpet dried, it was still sticky. As a last resort, facing a potentially ruined carpet, I used Goof Off manually in three foot square sections with three different passes over three days, applying it liberally to terry cloth towels and buffing with a dry towel. Luckily, I was finally able to remove the residue. I threw out the rest of the plastic film and will never use it again. If you read their fine print, it says to change the film every 30 days, or if there is heavy traffic. I don't know what is considered heavy traffic, but this was not heavy traffic. Use another product and stay away from this one or be prepared to replace your carpet.

Need two people to really install it the best way. One can do it but it is much easier with two. Otherwise great product. New carpet needed protection until house ready to show for sale.

I read through Amazon, Lowes, and Home Depot reviews and was a bit worried but went ahead and bought this product. I am glad I did and was very happy with the performance. This product worked exactly as advertised, take off the protective wrapper, pull out a width of it, stick it to the carpet, get down on your hands and knees and start rolling it out. It stuck to my carpet very easily and stayed down despite my wife and I plus 3 movers running all over it. It can get stuck back on itself but it's no different than when that happens with shipping/packing tape albeit on a larger scale. We did not use it on any other surface except carpet, the instructions explicitly state for carpet use ONLY. I have no doubt that it would've stayed down for 1+ week if we needed it to but we took it all off after about 48 hours. The adhesive was so strong that I had to stay right behind it as I pulled it up b/c I could see the carpet coming off the floor a bit but the carpet is fine.I also used this on the stairs, it's tricky but manageable. I started at the top, unrolled about a foot, tried to get it as close to the riser as I could before moving on to the tread. It helps if you have another set of hands to hold it down but I was very pleased with it. There's a chance ppl got a bad batch or old batch and the adhesive had loss it's efficacy but I'm very happy with what I got.

Love this carpet shield. I have a stubborn dog who likes to pee inside. Just had new carpet installed and don't want it ruined so I bought this to protect the carpet. It's a little tricky installing it at first, especially without help, but if you just pull a little off the roll at a time and press it on the carpet, it makes it so much easier. I am ordering more because it works so great.

Fits description, but does not stick well. Even while using two people to apply to carpet, it balls up like staticky saran wrap. What we were able to put down did hold up to the movers bringing everything in and walking on it though. For the price, it's about what I expected. Did the job, but a bit of a hassle.

This product works like a charm on "BRAND NEW CARPET". I bought a huge roll to protect traffic patterns in the home I'm trying to sell. It is my opinion that it just doesn't stick to carpet that has been shampooed. It's a constant battle to keep it in place. The picture on the left (red carpet) is brand new, guaranteed!!! Every spec of it sticks perfectly. The residue left in older carpet just screws it up!!!

Was preparing for a 1-room tile demolition & replacement job, & the crazy, fine dust that goes along with it. Removed 2 sets of French doors that separate the room from the rest of the house, & covered the openings (on the side away from the room being worked in) with horizontally placed overlapping strips of Carpet Shield (sticky side facing the door jambs, &, thus, the room being demoed. It worked fabulously, containing ALL the dust & flying particles & pieces of tile. It did take 3 people to install it - 1 to attach it to the door jamb & hold it in place, 1 to unroll it across the opening, & 1 to cut it to fit. I am buying a 200' roll to cover cabinets & bookcases during an upcoming wood floor sanding & refinishing project - so I don't have to pack up all the books. Just need to make sure I don't get it stuck to all the books!
