I bought it as a birthday gift, but I won’t be able to use it because it arrived with a broken lid, and when I opened the lid to check if it was sealed, I found that the seal was already open. It seems the product was either used or returned, as it wasn’t sealed like new. I wouldn’t recommend it as a gift.

Magenta and turquoise make better mixing primaries than red and blue. (Magenta plus yellow makes red or orange, and turquoise plus magenta makes blue or purple.) However, this is not the ideal magenta. Crayola doesn't provide pigment information on their labels, but I suspect this paint includes some white, which makes the colors look somewhat washed out. Crayola used to make a better (Kid's Paint) magenta, maybe 15 years ago or so, which had a very intense color with a slightly purpler hue that this one. It was perfect, but they changed it. Still, this is a good quality paint and the color is not so far off that it can't be used as a primary color together with turquoise and yellow.
