This product was easy to use however, I had to recut the wood, because the cut was not accurate.

This took helped me to cut wall trim to fit around my cabinetry. I was able to put the device along the cabinetry, lock the shape in place, and then trace/transfer to the trim. It helps to push the tool very firm against the pattern that you are trying to trace. The tool is very functional and even worked on very fine patterns and designs. It's overall very easy to use. The pattern was transferred accurately. I used a jig saw to cut the new pattern in the trim after tracing with the tool.

I needed something like this for project that had non-standard complex contours. The beauty of these types of tools is that you can match almost any contour if you have adequate access AND the tool allows you to match said contour using your two hands (vertcal surface or off the floor). The two Suzume gages I received provided two different experiences. The 5 inch gage was great - super smooth, easy to operate, locking mechanism worked great, easy to get flakes in-line flat - the .04 inch flakes provided a great contour match with very little smoothing required. The 10 inch gage was a very different experience - flakes were very stiff to move, individual flakes deflected out of plane when pushed against a surface, alot of secondary individual flake manipulation required to get it match contour that the 5 inch didn't need, takes work to get the flakes in-line flat again (stiffness issue). Maybe over time the 10 inch stiffness issue will go away but I believe for my 10 inch unit the out of plane deflection issue will be the same or get worse. The 10 inch flakes are ~1.125 inches longer than the 5 inch flakes - from the in-line flat position the 5 inch flakes are rock solid out of plane while the 10 inch flakes have a noticeable wiggle. Based on this not sure how much I'll use the 10 inch unit. I would rate it 3.5 stars if I could but will give manufacturer the benefit of the doubt on stiffness issue for now.

Yeah, its a specialty and rarely used tool for most of us but when you really need to get the contour to match, something like this can come in handy. Can you do it with other methods? Sure, but some of us don't practice this enough to do it well without a crutch. I was pretty happy to have this last week when I had to fabricate a match to a curve for a repair job.

I’ve been using these gauges for years. Anytime I need to trace an object or cut something around a weird angle this is my go to. The first time I used one of these was to cut tile around a decorative door molding. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to use and the result was absolutely flawless. I was hooked and I’ve used them ever since. I’ve been building out a camper van so there is daily need for this gauge.

I’ve been using this to measure out and cut flooring pieces accurately using this tool. Very easy to use and comes in handy for a lot of projects around the house or in the shop. I was also able to use this tool as a template to certain steel plates I needed to fit perfectly in a weirdly shaped corner. Made with quality in mind and very accurate.
