I bought this for a fairly traditional hot rod I recently purchased. I was trying to find one that I thought looked right for the car. Because this had free shipping and free returns I decided to go for it.This is the fourth different air filter housing I’ve tried for this car. The previous three were cheaper but not always by that much. This one had by far the nicest chrome plating on it of any I’ve tried- it was really a mirror-like finish. Unfortunately there was some kind of half-dollar sized stain on the chrome (see photo). I tried to wipe it off but it didn’t change, I then even tried just a little brake clean on a rag and wiped it but it still wouldn’t come off. It’s possible it might have polished out with a little light buffing, but I wasn’t interested in trying that as I’d already decided I didn’t like the look of it on my car. It also did have a slight ding in it that made the otherwise very nice reflective quality of the housing take on a bit of a fun house mirror vibe from the distortion. That wouldn’t have been a deal breaker for me but considering the stain and overall look of the housing wasn’t working for me I opted to return it.As others have mentioned the edge of the lid can be sharp so be careful handling it.Overall, pretty decent but just not the look I was going for.
