Great trainer, solid and good size. Not flimsy like the other occasional cold steel trainers.

Good for safe practice. Only downside is they are lighter than the equivalent blade but you can’t have it all!

great way to practice knife work without worrying about damaging anything or anyone.this unit is larger than a modern combat knife, but smaller than a machete. Closer to the size of a kitchen butcher's knife.

Well made like all cold steels training aids. Brought this for use in self defence classes, this is a very large training knive ideal for representing a carving knive that maybe picked up in the home in a violent encounter. We use all of cold steels training knives and are always very pleased with the quality and durability

Great made trainer at a great price. Cold Steel consistantly makes good products at a reasonable cost. This is a big bowie trainer, as well it should be, and great for sparring. I don't think you can go wrong with this if you need a bowie trainer that you're going to make contact with. Would buy again and recommend.

This is my second Cold Steel training knife, first one being a . Both are very solid and have very little bend to them. I use them for airsoft and they work fine, you just have to be careful. If you get excited and STAB, it's gonna hurt a LOT. This will definitely leave bruises when enough force is exerted, so keep that in mind. The only con I can think of is its size; I was expecting it to be a little wider than it actually, but that's mostly my fault, not the product, hence no star reductions. So, bottom line, Cold Steel is a great choice for airsoft; they're cheap ($8-$15, generally), very sturdy and solid, and have a good weight to them, which makes them great for throwing if needed.

In comparison to wood wasters, this is a highly affordable and near-unbreakable practice tool. On the otherhand, its essentialy plastic and doesnt handle as well as wood in terms of delivering realistic impact. However, it is safer in weapon sparring than wood or aluminum (ALWAYS use protective gear for contact sparring!)

This knife coupled with the custom made holster from visionholster.com is a magical experience. The whole the knife is 16" tip to tip, 10.5" blade, weighs 5.8oz. For goodness sakes its made of Santoprene, which is a thermoplastic vulcanizate or TPV (high-performance elastomers) in other words ITS GOOD HIGH QUALITY PLASTIC.The handle could have a little more girth, but then again I have some pretty big hands. It is actually pretty nice, well balanced, clean lines, nice matte look to it.Awesome for training or milsim stuff. If you are going to use these for airsoft, please dont stab with these, they're not rubber, they are pretty solid plastic, they barely bend. So pretty much, unless you wanna get jack slapped, don't do it. For my fellow gladiators that LARP, these work well in the same sense as airsoft/milsim. For the serious training, these are a little lighter than the real thing, still really nice for the price. Just a heads up. Not a con in the slightest sense. I do all of these things and I use this knife for all three, it is a really really sturdy knife, its can hold all kinds of abuse.. Buy one you won't regret it.

The Laredo training Bowie is amazing. These knives are always sturdy, and can put up to anything. I love how passionate Lynn Thompson of cold steel is with his products. These knives are not for air soft however. These knives are specifically for training, not LARPing and acting like children. The air soft dealers who say these are theirs should be reported to cold steel. These training knives can even stand up to cars backing over them! Here are the pros and cons.PROS:strongnever breakmade of santropene, what else could you ask for?realistic weightrealistic shapegreat for trainingCONS:you haven't bought one yet!
