This is great for taking deviled eggs anywhere. I took them on a 6-hr road trip in an ice chest and they did great! The trays were too big to sit flat in the ice chest so I had to stand them on edge at a slight slant. I figured that my prettily piped filling would be ruined since the eggs were bound to slide out of their spots, but they did NOT! I was thrilled! The other great thing is that you can put ice in the cover and set the tray of deviled eggs on ice! They were chilled the entire time with no mess, no sliding and no worries about food poisoning. The locking tabs work whether the tray is on top or bottom.. They are also thin enough that they stack nicely on a fridge shelf and have a footprint similar to a pie.

Before buying this product, I read through many of the reviews, including the 1 star reviews, but I decided to purchase, and I am glad I did. I used this to serve deviled eggs at an outdoor BBQ. I did transport in the car both containers, filled with 36 egg halves, in these containers, and while the reviews do suggest, and hold true the fact that they do are not easy to close, I was able to get them closed and the eggs stayed put in transport. Also, they did sit nicely on top of the flipped over lids filled with ice. Because the eggs sit flat in each nook, you will need a serving utensil to assist in grabbing them. Again, perfect for the price, you can play the same or more for a one time use product, so I think this was a solid choice!

These are not the most sturdy things. The top is a more flexible plastic than the tray that the eggs lay in. The top snaps to the egg tray really easy, but it is not super secure. If this drops or bends too much it probably will make a mess. With all that said, I like them. They are simple trays that look like flowers(great for easter) Also the top can be filled with ice and placed under the egg tray to keep the eggs cool. They are not heavy duty by any means. As long as you are not stacking things on them and they can't slide around they travel fine. They are easy to clean and stack nicely for storage. And that is a good thing for something that only gets used a few times a year.Photos:1- 4 trays and lids stacked2- Top and egg tray3- 1 of the 4 snaps4- The egg tray on upside down top(great to fill with ice to keep eggs cool)5- How I can easily bend and open the tray even while snapped closed

This one has a ways to go before it is useful.I bought it because our family loves deviled eggs and I make them almost weekly in the warmer weather.I wanted a way to store more deviled eggs, as the container I had only held 12 halves. Not enough! The fact that each tray held 18 halves was really a great thing, so I thought. I also wanted something that wouldn't take up a lot of refrigerator room, and thought this might slide in on top of other items in the fridge. The item came with the two trays and lids shrink-wrapped together. There are little clamps on the egg portion of the tray that hook to the lid portion. Not well, but they hook. There is NOTHING remotely sturdy about this set. You cannot pick it up by the handle. If you think you can quickly grab an egg and pop the lid back on, think again - it is not quick and you will probably need both hands. The tray itself holds the eggs very well. Almost too well - the indentations are deep, and we found ourselves using a fork to get the eggs back out. No big deal, but something you should know about these. They would work very well for a buffet table (that is at your home, and you did not have to transport them in these trays anywhere). Some others have said they put ice in the upside down lid and put the tray on the ice. I could see that being helpful in a picnic situation.Bottom line is that they do not fasten well enough in any way. I would not trust them for transporting eggs. I would not trust lifting them out of the refrigerator. I would not even trust them to keep the eggs fresh, because the seal is not tight on the top/bottom. It basically sits on top of the gg tray, and you use the little latches to pretend to hook the top to the bottom. Meh at best. I would have returned these, but as mentioned, I can see these working well for a buffet or self-serve party situation. That's ALL they would be good for, in my opinion. Just too flimsy for anything else.I have already purchased a different set via Amazon that is perfect for our needs and airtight too.So, if you have a lot of home dinner parties or family dinners, this will work on the food table. If you don't and might want to drive to somewhere and bring your deviled eggs with you, please get a different container.

These are terrible!I ordered them the Monday before Easter, for the purpose of making Jello "eggs" for our Saturday and Sunday Easter celebrations. Since they were ordered on Prime, they should have been here that Wednesday (which is what I was told at checkout). These showed up late Saturday night, after we already had to go to one Easter celebration empty handed, and with barely enough time to let the Jello sit for the next day. It took nearly a week to get something that I was supposed to have in 2 days, and there was no bad weather to slow deliveries. It took 4 days to even say it shipped out.The product itself is cheap and flimsy. The trays were so flexible that they would bend in my hand while I was trying to carefully carry them. There was absolutely no way to keep them straight. Clearly, this was a bigger issue for me since I was using them for Jello, but they bent so much that even eggs would slide around in them. The lids are completely useless. If you can manage to get the tray to stay straight enough to snap all four sides on, they will just unsnap when you pick it up. If the snaps were more sturdy, maybe the solid lid would have held the tray straight. It shouldn't have to though. You shouldn't pick up your egg tray to have the sides all bend down and drop half of your eggs.I ended up leaving them at my sister's house and told her she could keep them or throw them away, because I didn't want them. Do not waste your money on this terrible set of trays!
