Bought these for my crew to open their Christmas gifts - worked for 2 gifts then completely worthless. Couldn’t return because I could only locate 1 as they were tossed as trash!!!

I was interested when I saw that these blades were safe from cutting yourself, and you can bring them with you. The blade is VERY small, and I ran it along my finger and it was not sharp, so I’m not worried about cutting myself. I also think this would be acceptable to put in your purse or keychain and not get in trouble with TSA, because it isn’t a blade. But, be aware it doesn’t perform as well as a conventional blade. It works pretty good for piercing shipping tape and slicing it if there is enough space in between the pieces of cardboard to fit the thickness of the item (since the blade is so short you need to be able to jam it in to cut the tape). For the tape across the top of the package between the two flaps, there is usually enough room. But on the edges of the box. I found the blade is often a bit short because there is not enough room to fit it in. It is hard to describe in words. I’m not sure how this would open an envelope - maybe cutting the top off. So I have mixed results on the effectiveness. But since you can safely keep it with you, you can have one on hand and it might help. But it isn’t a full replacement for a real box cutter.

These cutters work incredibly well. I can grab it without looking and don’t have to worry about getting cut but yet they cut through packing tape easily. The tips of these are magnetic so I can hang on my white board to always know where it’s at. I like that this is a three pack because I use them in almost every room of the house.

I travel for work and have to open cardboard boxes at trade shows. I stopped carrying box cutters long ago for obvious reasons. So I'd been using my keys, not a good idea! I've broken a few. But this Ceramic blade can be carried onto a plane with no issues. Fantastic product!
