Our shop is used many of these on Subarus, just to let you know there is not a timing mark on the belt and it is about maybe one tooth shorter than the factory so it's a bit tight getting it on.

My husband who was a mechanic for over 30+ years installed this in our 2011 Subaru Outback. On the second drive with the part installed the bolt sheared off in the engine and destroyed my engine. The seller contacted us about the bad review. We sent images of the part with the damaged bolt, the tensioner unit it was part of as well as the picture of the engine where the rest of the bolt was stuck in it. They repeatedly attempted to blame Amazon for sending the wrong part until we showed them a picture of the box it was delivered in which clearly has their name and address on it. They then resorted to referring to the image of our engine to tell us the numbers on it was not their part. Of course it wasn’t, that image was our engine and included in it and circled for them was the half of the bolt that was part of the timing belt tensioner that had fitted against that part of the engine and was clearly stuck in our engine. We sent them a picture of the damaged bolt and part, circled it also for their blind eyes. We had responded to them twice about this clarifying this was an image with our engine and their bolt. It’s going to cost us 1k-3k to replace my Outback Subaru engine for a crappy $85 timing belt kit. The seller stopped communication and is not working to a positive resolution.

Kit is ok but the tensioner is made wrong and can't be Installed. The hole is drilled to far back for the pin and it doesn't allow you to hold the pin retracted far enough for the belt to go on, don't waste your money.

The item might seem nice for the price. HOWEVER, I bought this part in September and put it on. It is November 14th now, exactly a week ago, I was driving to school and heard a knocking noise I thought oh crud. I thought it was either piston slap or rod knock but my engine wasn't throwing codes. I decided my car wasn't safe to drive so I tore it apart in the school parking lot to see if I could figure it out when I got the timing cover off I saw the timing belt tensioner bolt had snapped. snapped off the tensioner was moving back and forth hitting the block and the crankshaft pulley. this ended up costing me around $200 to fix myself all because I didn't want to buy the kit off auto zone that was $220 ish with water pump and all. so in all with new parts and fluids timing cover and gaskets, I had to buy it cost me in a total of just over $500. AND I was lucky, only because I was somehow able to get the other half of the bolt out of my block ( it took part of the aluminum block with it), but if I would have tried to drive my car home the tensioner would have finished wearing through the cover, and the timing belt would have become lose and would have DESTROYED my engine. so what did we learn here class? do not trust this product buy OE parts from your local auto parts store or even a dealership. it will save you money in the end and it will have a warranty. I would like my money back but that probably won't happen. Please take my advice and don't get this product. (i will be adding photos soon once I get home from school. ( I also wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.)
