This cat hammock was easy to put together and the materials seem to be of good quality. It’s sturdy once it’s put together and looks really cute in the living room. My cats have yet to use it but that’s to be expected as any cat parent can attest to. It’s a good value and overall I am pleased with it.

The wood is nice quality plywood (so won't warp) with a fantastic, very smooth, defect free finish. The fleece should be easy to make a replacement if it gets destroyed over time since it is simple - ends are just looped over and sewn so you thread the sticks through those "tunnels".One cat so far seems to like it (cat on it is 8 pounds, the other one is 11, the back of this is in the lower position). The rest are smelling it suspiciously. Of course it can take time for cats to decide to use something and it may be that one cat claims it as theirs and the rest have to deal with time sharing or not use it at all (like one cat bed I have for the 4 of them). Also where you put it may matter. Mine refused to even check it out until I moved it (temporarily now it is on the bed since they check things out on the bed. I am planning to put it on top of a dresser they like to sit on so hopefully it will be used there). You mileage will vary since cats have different preferences.Although they provide a tool (allen wrench end and phillips screwdriver end of the same tool) it would be way the heck easier to use your own tools. When you are looking for the short black screws they are already screwed into the "receiving" so are not lost. You have to screw them out before you can use use them.Also if you hold the end of the round wooden pole tight against the flat piece you are screwing it into and then put the screw in and screw it in, it is far easier to get the screw to go in straight. Wood is relatively soft in that respect but if you find that the biggest black screws are suddenly too tight to turn likely you are going crooked into the pole pieces (they are pre drilled). Unscrew the screw, hold the end tight against the flat wood piece and try again. At least for me that fixed the problem. (Yes I know some of you can likely assemble the space shuttle with just a screwdriver, hammer and duct tape, and are rolling your eyes at what I have just written... bit I am a bit less talented in that arena so benefit from "beginner" tips. LOL).The photo show how the pieces go together - while the drawings on the directions show this as well, I messed up more than once. Hopefully the photos will help. Pay attention to which side of each stick you put things. While I uploaded the photos are in the order of the directions, they have shown up on the review in a different order.
