This case is well constructed and appears to be TSA ready. The cutouts are designed to fit various MP5 and MP5 clone versions. My version fit like a glove. There is also a slot for a handgun...also designed to fit various sizes from subcompact to full. Well-packaged, shipped and received timely. As advertised.

The basic inserts work fine. Everything else in this case kinda sucks and was not thought out well. The case doesn't stand up so it's super annoying taking it anywhere. If you want to add a light on the side you're SOL cause they didn't think of that I'd buy something else and cut it out yourself or look for a more experienced company.

I ordered a custom case for an AP5 and this is just awesome. I've had to hand cut cheap foam for other firearms cases and this was not only easy as heck but fun to pull out and adjust for my particular setup. No gripes about the case or company as it came fast and is great quality. My only gripe is with myself for rushing ahead instead of following along with the video at first. Take your time and follow along and you'll be very happy.

This case is very expensive and while it’s feature rich and fits my MP5W very well, it’s complete overkill and the case is huge in size relative to the small gun it is designed for and also incredibly heavy even without the gun in it. So heavy in fact that it’s pretty tedious to carry around or bring to the range. Also tough to find a place to store it when the gun is locked up in the vault, which is most of the time. Probably could have done without this….

I know the other reviews have pretty much said it all, but I feel I needed to add my 2 cents. First of all, while I was not thrilled with the condition of the shipping box this came in (not Case Clubs fault - Amazon...), I feel the durability of the case itself was put to the test by the gorillas at the shipping depot. Even with the extensive damage to the box, the case walked away with only some minor scuffing and scrapes. As for the fit and finish, I would have to say it was impeccable. The cutouts were removed with only a small amount of cutting along the longer edges. I loved the customizable aspect with only removing the foam parts that were necessary to fit the exact profile of my weapon. In this way, it looked like it was made for my specific MP5. Very professional at a fraction of the cost for having a custom lazer cut done. I am very pleased and will definitely buy another one (regardless of the monkeys at Amazon).

My case came with some defects. One of the hinge pins had worked it's way out a bit, and the lid seems misaligned with the body of the case. Given the alignment, I doubt it's water proof. Getting the lock-holes to align is also a struggle, and I needed to "persuade" the metal lock-hole reinforcement brackets to align as well. This isn't necessarily Case Club's fault, because I'm pretty sure they get the cases from another manufacturer, and put their foam inside it, but I'm disappointed Case Club's QA didn't catch it.The case is also oversized and heavy. I think it's ridiculously long because they're trying to fit the MP5SD (integrally suppressed) models. I have a standard MP5, so I don't have a suppressor, and if I did, I'd remove it during transport, and it'd fit in one of the "accessory" slots in the case. It'd cut a good 2/3 off the case length if they weren't accounting for leaving the suppressor attached. Since it is so long, the wheels are a nice feature. I would be happier losing the pistol/suppressor storage for a smaller/lighter/cheaper case.Despite their best efforts to support a lot of configurations, the foam also doesn't do a great job of fitting my MAGPUL furnitured MP5. It fits okay, and I understand why they can't account for everyone's MP5, but it's something to consider. Due to the similarity of various configurations as well, the foam is difficult to cut along the perforations because it's hard to tell which pattern you're cutting out. The foregrip perforation position is also incorrect for my gun, so I have to either remove my foregrip for transport (a pain), reposition my foregrip to match the case (bad ergonomics), or cut a new hole myself where the 10 round magazine perforations are (a pain, and losing out on that functionality).If I had to do it over, I would get a small, close-cell foam case, and cut it to my exact needs.I would return it, but I'm going to be travelling with my MP5 shortly, and I need a locking hard case for transport.If it weren't for the defects in my case, I'd say it's pretty good, but a bit heavy, unwieldy, and overpriced at $200.

This is a very sturdy, durable case with 5 heavy duty latches, a set of keys are included. There are various outlines in the foam so that you can cut it to suit an MP5 in whatever configuration you need. It will work for everything for an MP5K size to a full carbine length with an A2 stock. The addition of the side cutout for a pistol is also great. A cutting tool for the foam is included- I would advise cutting carefully to avoid damaging the foam unintentionally. Overall an excellent product.
