My mower came with the Reapers and after three seasons of sliding around on a moderately sloped lawn, I changed the out with these Carlisle AT101s and have been completely satisfied. If you don't know how to operate a zero turn mower, I'm sure these we'll tear up a lawn more than the OEM tires but that's true with any zero turn mower. I find that I do much less damage with these than the OEM tire because I'm not sliding around. Highly recommended.

I saw all the hype about the AT101 tires and still hesitated as I was worried they would tare up the yard. I bought them anyways. They have been amazing. They do so well on the hills that I feel like I’m driving a 4 wheeler around. Frankly I took my mower places a mower should not go and it did amazing. As for scalping grass, it actually caused less damage than the turf tires because they don’t slip and slide around. There is a short adjustment period because they drive slightly different than the turf tires, but better overall. If you spin a true zero turn it sometimes scalps the grass, but so did the turf tires. It also puts tractor tire marks in the softer dirt sometimes, but not enough to bother me. Comparing tire to tire and all things considered, definitely prefer these over the turf tires.

I put these on my cub and it works as I hoped. I have very hilly property and was seeking to extend the life of my lawn tractor without investing in new equipment to cut where I now live. I would never recommend you cut what I do with it but the tires do not slip up or down steep slopes and allows me to cut where I would have to normally use a weed eater.

One of my Grasshopper tires was nearly bald, and it definitely made a difference in the traction, with the bald one often spinning when the one with better tread did not. This tire is a great price, and nice to be made in USA. I have been changing my own tires for years; cars, tractors, everything, but this one surprised me. The small rim size seemed to make it even harder to install. If you know how to install a tire, make an attempt, but if not, don't bother. This is easily just as hard as installing a car tire. Once installed, looks good, and much better traction. One reviewer shows his tire blown up like a balloon. I suppose that could happen, but I wonder if it was overinflated. The tire I received is marked for 22 psi, but mine are around 10. It seems very unlikely for a tire to balloon at those pressures.

I put these on a 430 Max Steiner. These tires are great and Amazon had these delivered in one Day during Christmas time and Pandemic! Unbelievable. You can put these on yourself if you have the patience. You will wrestle them a bit but probably get done in a few hours without help, Save some money and have the satisfaction of doing yourself. They are tires not heart surgery. You will be fine. Buy yourself some tire spoons (on amazon) and use ALOT of soapy water to remove and install then you will have tools for the next tire encounter you come across. I am sure you will. YouTube is your friend if you want to research but just roll up your sleeves and do it!

I couldn't wait to try these out on my new 2015 Cub Cadet XT1 46" Lawn Mower. The 21" x 11" x 8" AT101's are slightly larger than the 20" x 10" x 8" Turf Tires that come on the mower, but fit the 8" rims with no problems. The larger size prevents the mower deck from coming all the way up to the highest setting (4") without rubbing on the tires. But I can easy mow at the 3.5" and lower setting all day long without any problems. The difference between the standard "Turf Tires" and the "AT101s" is like Day & Night! The Turf Tires would slip on the slightest hill, the dampest grass and the smallest amount of mud. The AT101s don't even hesitate and do not damage the lawn at all. These tires turned my Great mower into a Fantastic Mower. If your tired of slipping and sliding, get you a set of Carlisle AT101s for your mower.

I replaced the stock turf tires on a Scag Turf Tiger with the AT101's. The stock turf tires would spin on damp grass and tear up the lawn. They were also dangerous on steeper grades losing traction and sliding out of control. I wanted something with more grip but I was concerned these tires would tear up the lawn during sharp turns. I found that I can turn even tighter on grass with these tires than with the turf tire. The angled chevron tread doesn't dig in during turns unless you stop the inside wheel completely. They are significantly better going up and down hills in both wet and dry conditions. I have yet to lose traction with them whereas it was a daily occurrence with the stock turf tires. I can't think of any reason to use the turf tires over these which is probably why they come stock on Dixie Choppers.10/24/12 Update: Used these tires all season with no signs of wear and no flats. The old turf tires had several flats per season. No more torn up turf from sliding on hillsides either. I love these tires and can't imagine using anything else. They look really cool on the Scag as well.10/14/2013 Update: Another full season on the AT101's. The tread looks like new, no flats all year and traction is still great. These are so much better than stock turf tires. Don't let anyone tell you they tear up the lawn, in truth they are easier on the lawn than the turf tires.11/25/15 Update: Two more seasons on the tires. They've never had a flat and the tread is still in excellent condition. One small issue I noticed this year is that due to the tires being slightly wider than stock I was seeing signs of rubbing on the inside. I put a few washers between the wheel and hub which eliminated the rub. The scag is used for personal use and sees about 100 hours of use per year so professional landscapers might see greater wear but regardless they are wearing better than the stock tires under the same conditions.
