I currently use a Fire-Maple Fixed Star X2 propane stove when camping. But I always wondered what would happen if I ran out of propane and had no spare. This compact wood stove is a perfect backup stove if that ever happens! All of the components stack neatly in the little mesh carrying case. Assembly was super easy with the included stacking instructions. The pot holder legs kept a nice size pot steady. They were a little difficult to fold out and back, so I hope they will loosen up a bit after a few uses.On the downside, the metal seems a little thin, so that it will be prone to dings and dents. But at this price point, I'm not complaining. It's a great little stove that should be part of your camping gear. Cheap enough to have as a backup stove if you use a propane one as I do. Great buy!

I do a lot of camping and am always looking for the perfect stove for this. I like this one for places where burning local woods is allowed. It's not much heavier than a butane or alcohol stove when you include their fuels and it has the nice atmosphere of a fire. It's materials and build quality appear to be top-notch. The steel is thick enough to be strong without being too heavy. The pot supports are a good size for larger camp pots. I'd have no fear of putting a medium-sized cast iron pan on this stove. In addition to camping, this is also a good stove for emergency "grid down" situations to provide heat, boil water, and cook food when the power is out due to hurricanes, snow storms, earthquakes, or other situations.

I got this as a backup just in case something happens and i have no power, or gas for the stove. This is more of an emergency thing because you never know. It's compact and would fit in a backpack for campers real easy. It's also fairly lightweight so it's not going to weigh you down. Everything fits within itself so it's really easy to put together and then store back into the drawstring carry case. There's really nothing to assemble you just stack them the opposite way. You can't fit much kindle inside but small pieces of wood and charcoal will fit fine. It's made well so it should last you a while. For the price, it will work well and again, its compact and easy to put together and take apart.
