For the price, these work fairly well and have. decent sound quality. The microphones themselves are heavy and have a solid feel to them. Overall, I can recommend these at the price.

These are two pretty easy to use XLR microphones. If you're a pro, you'll understand that these are similar to basic Shure microphones with XLR male on the microphone with a 15ft shielded cable that ends in a instrument or TS 1/4" male connector. It has a pretty clean sound and is very very similar to the SM58 microphone, but a lot lighter and a lot more value especially since THIS version has an on/off switch. I do wish the cable was 25 ft or longer, but that's splitting hairs because with the savings you can easily buy a pair of 100 ft cables.I used these interchangeably with some other mics I had for live broadcast, and they worked just as well as my Shure units. They can definitely hold their own in the studio as well, but for that purpose, you should look at something more sophisticated.Overall this is a RECOMMEND!

I recently purchased a large JBL speaker system and it has inputs for microphones so I wanted to test out the functionality of the speaker system with the mic. I got this set of two wired microphones to use with it and I am very happy with them! They are easy to use (just plug it in to the speaker, turn it on and start talking into it) and the sound is really clear and easy to understand. If you are too close to the speaker, there will be some reverberation so you need to stand a bit away from the speaker system but once you have that set, this is very nice to use. It would be great for a karaoke machine or to use as a PA system with a speaker (which is what I am using it for). I recommend them!

Bought these for my 13 year old budding musician son to use for backups for his Shure wireless mics. He prefers these and advises they are great! He said you should buy these. They are metal and feel heavy.

Pros:- Decent build quality- Solid weight due to cast iron body- Good output volume- Impressive cardioid pickup pattern- Great for Karaoke applications- Good value at $35.99 for 2 microphones and cablesCons:- Cable does not support balanced mic configuration and is more prone to noise interference- TS ¼” male connector instead of TRSThe Cable Matters Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 4.5m Cable (2-pack) has a decent build quality. The microphone has a solid weight to it due to its cast iron body. I am impressed because this feature is not normally offered in this price range. ($35.99 for 2)While less sensitive than a powered condenser microphone, the unpowered dynamic mic can register considerable volume without any amplification into my laptop via a 3.5mm-to-USB adapter. This tells me the dynamic mic’s output is good. The even more impressive part is the cardioid pickup pattern this mic processes. Even at 45 degrees when speaking into the microphone, the output audio has been significantly attenuated. At 90 degrees, the mic does not register any audio. This to me is quite impressive. This means that this microphone is great for Karaoke applications where feedback is greatly reduced or eliminated. The cable, however, does not support a balanced mic configuration which helps to reject noise. It appears that pins 1 and 3 are short together right at the XLR connector. This means that there is only 1 signal wire and 1 ground shield in the cable. A proper balanced XLR cable would have 2 signal wires and 1 ground shield. The TS (Tip Sleeve) ¼” male connector also gives away this shortcoming. A proper balanced XLR mic should have a TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) ¼” male plug. Therefore the included cable is more prone to noise interference.Overall, the microphone under review has decent sound and a solid build quality. In addition, it highly rejects sounds not coming from the singer or the speaker, reducing noise and feedback. At the current selling price of $35.99, you get 2 sets of microphones and cables. This is a good deal.

These Cable Matters microphones are well-built and feel solid in hand. The sound is clear and balanced, making them great for a variety of uses, whether you’re singing, hosting karaoke, or using them for casual speaking. I’ve also tested them with my computer for both general use and troubleshooting purposes, and they performed flawlessly in those scenarios. The 15-foot cable gives plenty of flexibility, so you’re not tied down to a specific spot, which adds to their overall convenience. Getting two microphones in one pack makes this an even better deal. One small suggestion for improvement: including a quarter-inch to 3.5mm adapter would make these even more versatile right out of the box. While it’s not a dealbreaker since many setups don’t require it or people might already have one, it would be a thoughtful addition. Overall, these microphones offer excellent sound quality, durability, and value, making them a smart choice for anyone needing reliable wired microphones.

First of all, these microphones are cheap. For the price you pay for these, you would expect the microphones to sound as bad as a kids karaoki microphone set. Rest assured, these are not like that. I'm actually impressed with the sound quality-to-cost ratio. My every day mic is a GLXD+ w/SM58. My venues all have different setups. QLXD w/Beta87A, SLXD w/Beta58, BLX w/PG58, and also some non wireless beta58's, and SM58's(even a couple of random trusty 20 year old Sennheisers). Now that I got the namedrop out of the way, here's the credentials. I've been running live sound for for bands for 10+ years and DJ'd for even more. Now to the details: these Mics are NO SM58's(or above), but I would't hesitate to grab one of these if I had a choice between one of these or a PG58. The microphone is responsive and requires less gain before they brighten up. The on/off switch is smooth and light so when you turn it on-off you dont hear any loud THUD. There is a minor bump, but no more than the SM58S does when switched on. These microphones are made of metal and the grills are robust(I already dropped one about 2 feet and there is no dents on the grill or loose capsule). The package contained 2 microphones and two 15' XLR-to-TS(unbalanced). I have no use for the cables, but these microphones will join my arsenal of backup microphones I have scattered all over the place (like my car door, DJ controller case, X32R case, etc). It's hard to put a price on having a decent quality microphone available when you need it. There have been plenty of times I(or someone else) needed one and i just happened to have one to save the day. A friend of mine adopted my philosophy after his wireless unit went down on him mid-gig. He ordered a new wireless system and tried ordering 2 different cheap $10-20 microphones to keep as backup. He complained about the sound quality of them. I ended up checking them out and BOY were they terrible! Makes me appreciate these even more. Excellent find. I highly recommend these microphones!
