Cable puller is can not be used use for steel wire rope, hard material could slip out of the grip.

Tried using it with 1/4" galvanized cable. Will not grip the cable properly. With about 50lbs of force the grip will start slipping along the cable.I tried different cables and going both directions along the cable. It would grip slightly better in one direction than the other, but it would still slip with just the tug I could do with my hand. Could never get it to grip tight enough to use the come-along.

1. This seems just barely too large for 1/4” strand.2. The metal is cheap. The teeth wore down first use. This is not made for wire rope. Maybe regular rope.

I think the size .01 is not accurate. They are taking it back so that's good.

I bought this tool to pull 3/16" cable, which is 0.1875" or 4.76mm. It's advertised to handle cable as small as 3mm or 0.1"; however, it does not hold my 3/16" cable. It looks like it would grip a 1/4" cable or larger. I'm returning it and buying the Klein 160410. I still give it three stars because it looks like a quality tool that is nicely put together and built to last. The cable lock lever is a nice feature as well.
