I’ve used a variety of pistol scopes over the years. Burris builds one of the better handgun scopes for hunting that’s rugged, reliable and will withstand harsh conditions. Used this one on my 500 S&W in the desert, mountains and harsh environments up in Alaska and never lets me down.

Just now installed this on my super redhawk and zeroed it in at 50 yds printing 2" groups. Clean optics and perfect magnification for up to 100 yds and still have a wide FOV and quick sight acquisition. We'll see how it holds up to 44 mag recoil, my last Simmons scope lasted about 1000 rounds before the tube was deformed.

I have several of these Burris handgun scopes and they are a quality optic that hold up very well on heavy recoil handguns. This one also had a great price on amazon when I bought it several months ago.

I've owned Burris 3x12 handgun scopes for more than 30 years because they work flawlessly and they offer great magnification along with an adjustable objective for proper focusing.

A fantastic scope for my Ruger Super Redhawk. Eye relief and clarity are top notch. But ... comes without any lens caps, at all, leaving my scope with glass exposed to the air and dust. Not a good feature.

This scope replaced a cheap 4X LER scope on my Ruger Scout. With normal ball ammo, I was holding 2 MOA at a hundred yards. Now, with the same ball ammo, I am holding between 0.75 MOA and 1MOA at 100 yards. To say I'm happy is an understatement. With the adjustable power, I have a lot more versatility when using the Scout. I'm not shy any more in taking long-range shots. If the target is within 500 yards, the odds are greatly increased that I will be able to knock whatever it is down.As for durability, I've only put 150 rounds of 7.62/.308 downrange, so I can't really comment on how well it's going to hold up.

A scope of this power works best on a Thompson Contender, Thompson Encore, Remington XP-100, or similar handgun formats. It is a bit large for most revolver applications. On a single-shot handgun, this scope really shines!!! The 12X power is enough to show you how much unsteadiness you have at range, and helps you to improve your "hold". The ballistic-plex reticle, once properly sighted, and one has determined the appropriate ranges for the additional "hash marks", allows one to shoot further ranges with better accuracy. It does not have any aids for compensating for wind, so one still has to do a manual holdover to compensate for wind.Just installed one on a Wichita Silhouette .308 Winchester in left hand. The one I purchased here went on a Thompson/Center Contender chambered for 7 X 30 JDJ. I have had these on a number of calibers for a number of years, and, for a single-shot handgun, I wouldn't choose anything else!
