  • Refined Wine Filtration: #2 Polishing filtration pads enhance clarity and brilliance in wines aged 4–6 weeks, polishing them with a 1–5 micron pore size. Ideal for reducing haze and suspended solids, they prepare your wine for fine filtration or bottling.
  • Mini Jet Compatibility: Exclusively designed for the Mini Jet System, these pads ensure an efficient and reliable filtration experience. They are perfect for home winemakers seeking high-performance equipment for intermediate filtration.
  • Sanitization and Soaking: Soak the pads in a solution of one quart of cold water with 0.75 grams of metabisulfite and 3.5 grams of citric acid (or substitute with lemon juice). Soak until the pads no longer float, ensuring they are fully saturated for optimal performance.
  • Balances Clarity and Flow: Achieves the ideal balance between thorough filtration and wine throughput, improving wine appearance without stripping flavor or aroma. These pads excel with red wines and heavier whites.
  • Three-Pack Convenience: Each pack includes 3 medium-grade filter pads, intended to be used together in a single filtration session. Ideal for polishing wines that need intermediate haze removal, preparing them for their final stage.

The Mini Jet Polishing Filter Pads (#2) (1.5–2.5 microns) are designed to remove medium-sized particulates that remain in your wine after the initial coarse filtration. They work exclusively with the Mini Jet Wine Filter and are perfect for wines aged 2–3 months. These pads enhance the clarity and visual appeal of the wine by refining it after the Coarse Pads (#1) filtration stage. Which Pads to Use: Use Polishing Pads (#2) after the Coarse Pads (#1) to remove medium-sized particulates. Follow with Fine/Sterile Pads (#3) for ultimate clarity and stability. Proper Pad Placement: Place the Polishing Pads (#2) in the middle plate of the filter stack. Ensure the rough side of the pad faces the wine as it enters the filter. Using an Electric System: With the Mini Jet Wine Filter, once the Polishing Pads (#2) are in place, the self-priming pump will automatically begin filtering the wine. Ensure that the filter is primed, and the intake hose is correctly positioned in your wine container. Filtering Your Wine: After the Coarse Pads (#1) have done their job, replace them with the Polishing Pads (#2) to filter out medium particles. The process is quick and effective, with 20 liters (5 gallons) of wine filtered in just 15 minutes. Few Filtering Tips & Troubleshooting: Tip: Use Polishing Pads (#2) after coarse filtration for better results. This will give your wine that polished, bright appearance. Troubleshooting: If the pads clog too quickly, check the clarity of your wine. Wines with a lot of suspended solids may require longer settling before filtration. Always make sure that the pads are correctly installed.
