Well, I have purchased 6 different bullwhips on Amazon over the past half year. All were advertised as cowhide, except this one, which is supposed to be Kangaroo hide. I must say, I was NOT impressed with what I received. While I have no way of telling if it was actual Kangaroo hide or not, I can say that upon close inspection, it looked cheap, like a bonded leather or the like. It felt cheap too. The "leather" of the wrist strap seemed noticeably thinner and cheaper in quality than any of my other whip's wrist straps. All my other whips took very little time to break in. This one could hardly be uncurled, without actual help. I could tell that IF I were able to break it in, it would take a long time, as it was so stiff. And I did not want to risk all the money I paid for it on the off chance that it "might" get broken in properly, only to find out that it wouldn't, and that due to wear and tear I may not be able to return it. So, I returned it right away.I saw many people say they liked it. I don't know how many whips these other people have that they could compare it to, but it felt, and looked, to me, to be inferior to even my cheapest whips.

It’s a nice working bullwhip, the quality is a bit lacking, and to make it good it requires some care and know how….

Fed Ex created a problem and Leather Bond went ahead and refunded me. Therefore, I went ahead and ordered one of their highest end whips and hope to continue doing business with them.

Whip arrived quickly. Looks awesome (some small areas weren’t properly dyed). Overall, pretty happy with it

I got the 8' 16-plait kangaroo leather bullwhip on an impulse and I haven't had a chance to crack it yet but the whip looks exactly as pictured. It's a little stiff but I oiled it with some leather dressing and it already feels more supple. I'll give it a chance to soak in overnight before cracking it.It looks exactly as pictured which I was impressed by. I could only find a few minor cosmetic flaws but if you want something for a costume or just to own something that looks like the Indiana Jones whip, this will suffice for beginners, kids, etc.I would have been so excited to get one of these as a kid.

Fantastic! Very well made, definitely worth every penny and more. I also have a David Morgan whip, this is almost identical, except hundreds less. Not a prop or toy boys n girls, it's the real magilla! If you're a whip enthusiast you'll be very happy with this one, and it's for "the nice price" excellent deal all the way. ❤❤❤❤
