I had a weird issue with my 1999 White GT205 while mowing last year where it slowly started increasing the revolutions of the engine to wide open throttle. This mower has a 22hp Briggs Intel V-Twin engine and these engines are notorious for governor gear failures, so I was naturally led to that conclusion and dreaded tearing the engine off the mower and opening it up. I put it off all winter and now that the mowing season is around the corner, I decided to dig into it. While researching wide open throttle characteristics, I ran across a thread that stated that loose or missing carburetor throttle plates were also an issue that can cause this, so I started there first. I am SO glad I did! When I got in there, I found the throttle control rod between the carburetor and the governor was completely missing! Yeah, that will cause an issue! So a Quick look at a parts diagram to find the part number and a quick search here led me to this part. Hit submit and wait a few days and bada bing! It is on my doorstep. I quickly ran out to my mower and put it in place and reassembled the intake system. Charge the battery and flick the key and woohoo! My mower is working great again and is responding to my throttle commands! Now I am ready to hit the yard again when the ground turns green.

Requires a lot of bending to couple throttle linkage to carburetor . Also binds with intake manifold.
