Purchased to remove O-Ring from boiler head on my espresso machine. Brass is not the best material for this purpose. The hooks bend much too easily and getting the ring out was quite difficult because of the consistent give. I will need to find an alternate tool.

Can't give a higher rating, or lower, as I have not used yet. Look OK upon casual inspection. Very quick delivery, and of course along with everything else, except my salary, could be cheaper. Still cheap enough to get for those just in case situations. Can't have too many tools.

Just a word of caution, this brass pick tool bends so easily that I cannot see it lasting any long amount of time. Not what I was expecting when the tip bends just with a touch.

Great tool for picking carbon build up off my AR bolt. The only thing to note is that it is delicate and can be easily bent.

I frequently have to deal with o-rings smaller than a penny. This tool is handy for digging them out without scratching the metal groove, housing, whatever. This tool is not very well finished. It has some knife-sharp edges at the working ends that will slice into an o-ring. This is not a problem if you know you are putting in a new o-ring. But, if you are just removing an o-ring to inspect it you can damage it.I had to do some work on this tool to make it friendlier to o-rings. I used a small file to take down all the sharp edges and then I used fine wet-or-dry sandpaper for an all-over smoothing. Finally, I used a polishing wheel to bring the tool to the state that I wanted. So now I can work the tool around the groove and work the o-ring out without damage to rubber or metal. The tool is certainly strong enough for o-rings.The main point is that it will do the job. It should be better finished and I debated on whether to downgrade it for that. I decided to go with five stars since it is not that difficult to improve and the way it is probably is all that many people are wanting.

I also bought this for gun bench work. It's well machined and solid brass, just what I wanted. I did test it's o-ring usefulness on some corny kegs I use for homebrewing and it performed great. It's nice to be able to use the tool without worry that it's going to scratch my guns or stainless keg parts.Captain O-ring also packaged it nice and shipped it fast. If I ever need another o-ring brass tool, I'd not hesitate to use them again!
