We finally pulled this out of the closet today, and it was super fun! We built one course that accidentally didn't connect. Sometimes the balls don't stay in their bulldozers. If the boards aren't flat or your floor isn't, sometimes you might get someone going off track, but that's pretty easily remedied. We managed to get all the blue balls delivered to targets. We didn't try a relay, but did have two tracks at once. That's really fun.Whether a smaller kid would do this on their own, I think is dependent on the child, but it is easy enough to set up that it would be more an issue of personality in most cases than ability.I'm hoping this will get a lot of use now that it's been opened and discovered. I like how little room it takes up when all broken back down in its storage bag too.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson who loves puzzles and trucks and marble runs. It was perfect. He loved it! Very educational and made well. Challenging but not to frustrating, age range could depend on each child. Some children may need assistance to figure out the challenges.

the large green pieces are a bit of a pain to snap together and one of the pieces is a bit warped. It functions, but one corner is a littke raised so doesnt come flush to the other piecas. But we have a house of train crazed kids and this is a great toy to travel with. As my kids loe trains, we take this with us to friends and grand parents.

The Brain Stem Activity Logic Kit is an easy to setup, fun activity to play along with your child. I'm always looking for things to engage with children that are not electronic (Eg. tablets, video games, etc.). This particular kit can be as simple or challenging as you want to make it. It's kinda like playing chess or checkers where you have to anticipate the direction you want your car to go based on the track pieces. The four pieces of track board snap together easily and stay flush on a flat surface. Taking them apart was a little more difficult and may require adult supervision so as not to break the plastic tabs. The two little cars (forklifts) come with decals to create the face and windows. In order to get them to move on their own you have to pull them back on a flat surface until they stop, then hold a little button on the side of the car to prevent the wheels from moving until you place it on the track. Place your marble in the bucket and let it go!The included color manual gives plenty of track placement examples for individual or team play. My niece and I had a great time with this product. Highly recommend.

At first, I was uncertain about purchasing this for my 6-year-old son, who has a rather short attention span and often gets bored swiftly. I was also unsure if this would be too simple for him to understand. I was happily surprised to find him and his 12-year-old brother thoroughly enjoying themselves racing their cars to determine which one could reach the marbles first. The toy is well-made, and the design is both fun and engaging. As a parent, I value that it promotes creative thinking and problem-solving. My children didn't require the instructions, and they successfully devised their own paths and challenges. The absence of screens in the toy is a significant advantage, making it an excellent choice for family time. Another benefit is that it doesn't need any batteries! An aspect that needs enhancement is the wind-up mechanism. The toys can be challenging to initiate, and it's simple to lose momentum before they are correctly positioned on the track. This can be frustrating for younger kids. However, the option to simply drive the cars without winding them up is a nice compromise.I believe the toy is somewhat expensive considering its value. Although it's well-made and enjoyable, I'm not convinced it's worth the price. In general, I believe this toy would be an excellent present for children who like puzzles and imaginative play. This toy is appropriate for children between the ages of 5 and 10 who like imaginative play and solving challenges. Nonetheless, younger children might feel frustrated when attempting to create the maze paths. It's definitely not for children below 5 or 6 years although the description says it as 3-10 years. Parents with younger children might think about beginning with the easier, more intuitive parts of the toy before moving on to the more difficult challenges. On the plus side kids older than 10 may also enjoy this.I have a couple of recommendations for enhancement. Initially, enabling the purchase of extensions and additional path pieces would greatly enhance the game's difficulty and maintain children's interest for a longer period. Furthermore, an easy method to fasten the boards together would facilitate moving the game.
