Simply Speakers is the online supplier that my stereo shop referred me to restore my Boston speakers that I purchased in the 1990’s.My A 70 side speakers gave out a horrible rattle, and when I took off the front grill cover, I saw my surround foam ring had deteriorated. This left the speaker cone rattling free.You simply type in your brand of speaker and model, and it will point out the surround that you need to order. They send you the glue and a brush with the new foam surround.My Boston A 70’s sound like they did in the 1990’s.My Boston subwoofer surround is rattling, and so I’ve ordered a surround for that.Mark

This was well worth the price. The speaker surround had disintegrated and since it was an old unit, i was ready to throw the entire thing in the trash and get a new one. when searching for a new unit i ran across this product as something people before me had purchased. I thought i would give it a try since it was way cheaper than buying a new sub. it does take some careful and steady handiwork to apply and glue and new surround without making a mess or gluing the surround in crooked but it will go on nicely if you dont panic. the instructions were well written and helped greatly. I would recommend also watching a video before jumping on this.the hardest part would be the clean out of the previous surround glue and foam. go slow and steady on this part. I also used a lot of q-tips and rubbing alcohol on the metal frame to make sure none of the previous glue remained. On the metal frame i used a small flat piece of metal to get under a majority of the glue. I did not use any tools on the paper cone for fear of piercing or cutting the cone. I just put a tiny bit of alcohol on a q-tip and rubbed it in a bit and then carefully scratched it off with my fingernail. Doing it that way allowed me to feel if the paper cone was taking too much pressure from my nail rather than a tool. it may be messy but it was effective.

After 15 years, my Boston Acoustics PV-600 subwoofer started to rattle as the old foam was breaking down. Instead of paying $400-500 for a new subwoofer, I found this product to replace the foam for $20. The process was easy. The directions were detailed and the you tube videos simplified the process. The only difficult part was removing the old adhesive from the frame. The new foam fit exactly and the speaker essentially self-centered itself. The speaker works like new. Once again, the bass rattles the house, not the speaker. If any other speakers start to have an issue, I'm definitely going to try this product before looking to replace the system.

I had an original pair of Boston Acoustic HD-10'S I bought back in college (c1994?). The foam surrounds on the base woofers were totally disintegrated. I was about ready to throw them in the burn pit, but luckily did a quick internet search to see if I could get new base speakers. Luckily I found these! These new foam surrounds worked perfect! Very easy to install. Please note that you only get 1 foam surround replacement in the package so you need to order 2 of these if repairing both speakers. Also, note in your HD-10's that the base woofer is passive. Being there is no magnet or wires that drive it. So don't get upset when you take out your base woofer and it is not wired. It is suppose to be that way!!
