Included hardware was too short. Since I already had the OEM exhaust off, I was lazy and just forced the hardware to fit. There’s a slight smell of gas now but more than likely my fault for cutting corners and using short bolts. Get longer hardware before even putting your car up on jacks. Sounds great, seemed excessively loud at first but that was due to such a different exhaust note compared to OEM. It’s a low rumble that gets slightly louder higher in recent range or on a downshift. Doesn’t sound like a “fart can”. Would highly recommend aside from the hardware fitment issue. You’ll also get a Borla hat in the box and a couple stickers.

Fits good. Sounds good. The only negative thing I noticed is the hangers can fall out of the rubber insulator because it doesn't flare or get lager at the end like the factor hangers. I ended up using small stainless steel hose clamps on then end of the hangers to keep them in place.

The exhaust was packaged very well to prevent any damage during shipping. Not only was the exhaust in the box, but they also give you a hat and a Borla sticker. Installation was super easy. Installed in 20min! Like most reviews are saying, the bolts that bolt up to the cat are too short, but just grab a few longer bolts and you're all good. Fits like a glove! I should point out that I have a 2001 2.5RS Coupe. The description says it doesn't fit this model, but it does. This Borla exhaust is quiet at idle, but not too quiet. There is a very low rumble. It's a low rumble during light acceleration as well. But step on it and this exhaust growls deep! You get that real Suabru engine sound! It's not a huge horsepower increase, but definitely some. It feels like there is a little more low-end power. Sometimes during shifts or deceleration, you get that exhaust pop from the fuel cut off. I personally like it, but it should be noted. I also really like how it's doesn't stand out like those coffee cans at the back of the car. This exhaust tip is just discrete enough to not raise attention to it. I should also point out that I've always bought Borla products for my cars so my opinion is also a bit biased. But I keep buying Borla because they have never let me down with their products. This exhaust is well worth it and I'd highly recommend it to anyone considering it. Whether you just want an aggressive sound, or you're into tuning your car. It's subtle enough to not raise attention, and it performs incredibly!

Mounted on a 1999 Subaru Forester (2.5L SOHC). Have it paired with Borla UEL header and Magnaflow cats. Noticed an improvement across the entire power band, but especially low-end (wasn't expecting that.) After installing, I'm led to believe that the old stock muffler must've been severely clogged (Over 200K miles on it) and that's why I noticed such an improvement as I've heard from others that these straight through mufflers usually don't help a lot as far as performance with the N/A boxer engines. I'll cut open the old muffler soon to confirm or deny my suspicion. The sound from this new cat-back system is excellent especially paired with the Borla UEL header. No raspiness, rattling, or any other noises that would be otherwise annoying. It's a little bit louder than I'd like, but nothing I can't live with. Dynamat in the tailgate is the next step and it will probably help a lot as I believe right now it's just a thin sheet of metal and some plastic. Youtube has plenty of videos of this exhaust paired with EL headers, UEL headers, stock headers, catless exhaust, and almost any other combination you can think of if you're looking for an example of what the sound will be like.Other parts used:~1-3/4" 8mm bolts x2 (Supplied bolts are too short and stock bolts are too large in diameter for the new flange)Bosal 256-305 Gasket x1Long rubber exhaust hangers x2 (this exhaust's tip mounts higher than stock, if you have a hitch, you may need longer hangers so it doesn't rub)Hope this review helps others looking at this.
