Installation was very straight forward. Only took a few minutes. Fit perfectly in my 2007 Silverado (newer version, not the classic). The plastic bezel was good quality. Pretty much just like the original I’d say. Setting up your original key to work with the lock is super easy. Just follow the instructions. There are videos on how to do this as well.

I bought a Fleer cover for my 2009 Silverado Truck and wanted some way to lock it. Ended up with the tail gate lock replacement. Easy to install and easy to set the lock for my Key. Found out later that people were buying them to they could lock the tail gate and keep people from stealing the tail gate.

This was super easy to Install. I was able to install this tailgate lock on my 2012 GMC Sierra in about 10 min. All I used was a ratchet set and a slim door panel removal too. Easy, easy, easy.

Installed on a 2007 Silverado 1500, which did not come originally with a locking tailgate. Seems to be durable and well made, but only installed it yesterday. If it fails earlier than expected, I'll come back and update the review.Took about 10 minutes to install, not counting the time it took to remove the tailgate liner. I had removed the liner previously to install a Pop & Lock, which did not fit my truck.I especially like that you can key it to your ignition key, so you don't have to put another key on the key ring. It keyed to my ignition key on first try with no problem.Now I have a locking tailgate to go with my hard-shell tonneau, and secure items in the truck bed. Even without a tonneau, it will prevent theft of the tailgate itself, which is easily removed without the lock.

This tailgate assembly with lock exceeds GM OEM standards. Easy to install. Useful installation videos on YouTube for this product. The lock will match your original key. NO separate keys. Check YouTube video for instructions. Unbelievable product.👍

Installed in 2013 Silverado 1500 tailgate, great fit, easy to program with existing key. Works perfect for an amazing price versus dealer quoted $120 for cylinder AND then $220 to program same key. Solid product!!

This handle was soooo easy to install. I ended up looking up a video online for instructions. Which then it took less than 10 mins to install. I love how you code your existing key to it so it’s eliminates having extra keys. Highly recommend this product! I installed this on our 2010 Chevy Silverado 3500HD that didn’t have a locking handle.

Excellent replacement for a non-locking, or broken tailgate handle. Installed mine in 15 minutes from start to finish. This is a GM endorsed product, so it fits perfect. The fact it learns your original key is a fantastic feature. Great product.

Just installed this one is less than 5 mins. Works perfectly as a single key unit. I originally bought a 'used like new' unit from Amazon Marketplace and noticed immediately after opening the box that the cylinder lock did not have the protective cover on the cylinder but the back of the unit did say 'inspected'. All that meant was that they inspected the unit for cosmetic damage. Unfortunately once these units are keyed, they only work for that key so I tried my key, it didn't work so I returned it and bought a new one. Lesson learned.This unit looks and fits like OEM.If you are looking for a lock for your tailgate don't hesitate and buy this one. Having the single key is a great feature. Now I'm looking for a tonneau cover and I wish they would use this key feature so that my ignition key would open the tailgate and tonneau cover.

The install was pretty easy (15-20 minutes) and it does key to whatever you want. I was able to key it to my ignition key which is very handy. I tried cheaper similar items and was incredibly disappointed. Shop around for the best price but I think the product is worth it.
