Got this to replace the carb on a 2015 Mercury 9.9 HP 4 stroke. We have four of these motors at the boathouse of our rowing club for our coaching/safety launches. The only difference between this carburetor and the original one I removed, was the original had an overflow port at the top of the carb. The castings of this carb are virtually identical to the old one and I could have just switched the top plate to retain the overflow, but I didn’t bother. It did not affect the performance of this unit. After installing this, the motor started with two or three pulls. The idle was set a little high, which was a quick adjustment. I ran it through its paces out on the water and the motors ran great. Our launches get a lot of use mostly idling, switching back and forth between forward and reverse constantly so the coaches can stay abreast of the rowers to give instructions. This is a fraction of the cost of the OEM part and will save us a lot of money going forward. Will buy again in the future!

I researched this carburetor before I ordered it as it stated that it was for a Tohatsu outboard. The "Tohatsu" props and the carburetors are the same as those that are used for Mercury outboard engines. I opened it and laid it next to my 9.9hp (4-stroke) carburetor and they are exactly the same fit. Good to know as I saved a bunch of money.
