As we all know this is not the cheapest route to solving this problem, I have to say I am happy with the switch and the fact that it will show you "reverse polarity" is a nice feature.... overall 5stars

Before purchase i read a comment about low quality but dicided to try my luck. During install i noticed the poor quality, the sitch seemed to bend when you try to srew the connections. After only 3 months of operation the switch internly failed. Now only the first position is available so i can't use the generator or the invertor. Pretty dissapointed for such a pricy item and i would never buy that brand again. Try something else...

At first this seemed to be an excellent product, as I have experienced all Blue Sea products to be, unfortunately two weeks after installing it something internal to the switch apparently broke causing me a great deal of grief hunting for electrical gremlins as I did not even consider that it could be my new switch. Testing continuity with a meter soon proved that position two was dead. There was also intermittent continuity between contacts 2 & 4 sometimes in all positions, sometimes in no positions. I actually got some sparks on position 3 once during testing. At any rate it broke on May 6th and the return deadline was May 2nd, so I'm out $199. The unit is rated a 30+ amps 120v, and I was running it of a 120V 20 amp shore power, so I doubt it was overloaded in any way. Anyway, just beware that while Blue Sea has a very good reputation, you might want to give this particular item a pass.

I can't believe they are asking close to $200 for this... I can buy the switch itself for under $20. They probably manufactured the whole thing for under $30... too bad because I really like the convenience of it being pre-wired but can't justify paying that kind of price for convenience.
