The job? Drill two holes in porcelain tile over 1/2" Hardie board tile backer. I needed to install yet another handrail in the shower I built and tiled 12 years ago. Dang, none of my typical masonry bits would even get started on a practice/ scrap leftover tile for just this reason. ( and no stud beyond, using hollow wall anchors)This set blew through like butter. Okay, really tough butter, but still. Here's more tips: regardless of what size hole you need, start with the smallest bit first and work your way up to your desired hole size. In my case, that meant all of them.Use LOTS of water. On my vertical wall application, I kept a small squeeze bottle and a little tub of water handy. Every few seconds I dipped my tip ( settle down!) in the tub and flooded the horizontal hole in progress. So after three full sized holes ( 1 practice, 2 for real) . I'm finished, but the bits look far from it. They look barely used.

These bits work drilling ceramic and tile, they also will let you remove a burr or round off a corner.Packaging definitely is an issue as the bits bash against each other. If you look at the pics, they chip away the black finish during shipping. The container also has little grinding diamond chips mixed with the paint chips.Bit sizes are : 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 9/16"All in all they are a convenient set of bits that is suitable for home project or occasional use.

To my limited experience, these bits have an odd shape ... that's an observation, not a criticism. Nevertheless, there is a nice selection of sizes here that fit a standard drill. For the purposes of this review I tried the smallest bit on an old block of concrete I had laying around the yard. Using the instructions on the package (starting from a low angle) within a few seconds I had drilled a fairly deep hole into the block. I have worked with masonry bits before, and these seemed to produce the results much faster with much less force required from the drill or the user.I'm looking forward to my next project that will involve these, and to trying them on glass. A nice tool to have at hand.

On first impression these drill bits look not bad however you can tell they are not of the highest quality by the diamond layer at the end of each bit that cuts into the tile as well as the waxy substance in the middle of them. I would say these bits are good for a DIY project however I wouldn't recommend them for commercial use or for long projects as I don't think they will last very long. The Diamond layer is thin and upon using them 1 time you could tell it was starting to come off and wouldn't last more than a few times at most. In terms of effectiveness - they are just ok - there are definitely better bits on the market for the same price that are more effective. I do like that the set comes with different sizes so it gives you lots of options opposed to just all of them being the same size and they come in a nice little case to keep them in. Overall I would say if you just need them for 1 small project they may be worth it but I wouldn't recommend them for long term use.

I'm one of those Jack of All Trades and I buy inexpensive tools that will get me past a particular job that pops up. So, understand that I'm not a scientist that is an expert on materials or a professional craftsman that has a lot of experience with such things.I recently used it to drill holes in cultured marble in my bath area to install glass sliding doors. I followed the instructions by starting the hole at an angle and then bringing the bit perpendicular to the surface. It all worked out great with neatly drilled holes. Previously I would have used a regular masonry bit with the pointed tip. The tip of the bit would always be trying to walk away from the marked location. I thought these new JOERIC diamond bits worked better and were faster than the masonry bits I have used in the past. I don't quite understand the wax cooler, but it probably has to do with lubrication. I would recommend this to family and friends.

So these showed up and were a little rougher than what I expected. I agree with another user in that they should have individually wrapped each bit in some sort of plastic. I think the banging around during shipping Probably scratched them up a bunch. The diamond coating doesn't look as thick and even as it does in the pictures. These do the trick though. Not sure about the cooling wax thing. It appears to work on Smaller jobs. Only time will tell.

We have some pots we like that don't drain properly. These bits worked great to enlarge some holes and add new ones. You do have to follow the directions to get them to start properly. They chew right through all the pottery material that we tried them on.

So when my husband decided to try out the JOERIC 6 pcs Black Dry Diamond Bits Set, we were both interested to see how it would fare. Joeric had done good by us in the past, and we had a hunch this time would be no different. When you open the package, you find six bits in different sizes, ranging from 3/16 to 9/16 inches. They're all black, which might not seem like a big deal, but honestly, it makes them pretty easy to spot among all the other silver and grey bits in his tool box.The first thing my husband noticed was that these bits were designed with a triangle shank. Now, if you're not familiar with tool lingo, that just means the part that you insert into the drill is shaped like a triangle. That's a nice touch. It gives the drill a solid grip on the bit, and it's a small detail that makes a noticeable difference when you're working. As for the diamond bit part, that's not just a fancy name. These bits are made to cut through hard materials. Think ceramic, glass, stone - stuff that would usually give regular drill bits a hard time. And the diamond bits from Joeric? They cut through all that like a hot knife through butter. It's pretty cool to watch, actually. But what about the sizes? You get six of them in the set, from 3/16 to 9/16 inches. That's a decent range, and it covers most of the jobs my husband needs to do around the house. Maybe if you're a professional and need very specific sizes, this might not be enough. But for us, it's more than fine. So, after testing these bits out, we're pretty pleased. The triangle shank is a clever design, the diamond tips are effective, and the range of sizes is handy. It's another solid product from Joeric, just like we expected.

Value level quality. 6 bits were shipped loosely in a plastic tube so they rubbed agains’t each other during shipping. Paint came of a couple but the diamond coating seemed to stay intact. Bits should have been individually wrapped in paper/plastic. Bits are hollow/not solid with a waxy filling. Manufacturer states this is for “cooling”. I’m not so sure it’s that or they are saving by not making a solid bit. It would help to keep the bit cooler though. Diamond coating is only 5/16” long and uneven in spots. You have to be accurate on what you are cutting. A larger area for the coating would be better. Each bit has graduated markings so you can monitor the depth of hole you are cutting. Minimal coating on the bottom of the bit so you have to start at an angle before you bore. Shank fits in a standard drill with no problems. They are inexpensive so they should be good for a one-and-done use. Ok for light duty. Price is fair for what they do.

I ordered these drill bits to secure a safe in my home. The floor is concrete. At first I had some difficulty getting the hole started. However, after a while, If I held the drill at an angle, as is recommended in the instructions, the hole started. Once the bit breaks the surface of the concrete, the hole drilling proceeds at a quicker pace. I stopped occasionally and sprayed water on the hole, to keep it cool.I'm happy with these drill bits.

These are really nice Diamond drill bits. They work well and have lasted so far. I am able to use them with my drill, which is handy for quick little projects. The variety of sizes is really nice along with the container they come in. Very happy with these bits.
