The M 88 has been manufactured by hand at the beyerdynamic company location in Heilbronn for decades. Due to its outstanding technical properties, it is considered a classic microphone. Preferably used on a kick drum or as a vocal microphone, the wide frequency response, the pronounced bass reproduction, the high sensitivity and the excellent directivity impress with physically almost perfect values.

The M 88 has been extremely popular in the vocal sector for several decades, be it as a studio vocal microphone or on the live stage. This popularity is due to its excellent technical properties, detailed bass reproduction and gentle treble boost. Thanks to the high-quality basic sound, the signal can be optimally processed further.
A hidden talent
Since the M 88 was originally developed as a microphone for voice recording, it can also be used very well as a podcast microphone.
Hypercardioid near perfection
From a technical perspective, the M 88's hypercardioid is close to perfection. This means that sound arriving from the front is picked up preferentially. At the same time, signals arriving from the side and sometimes from behind are reduced.

The M 88, like all microphones in the M series, is manufactured in Germany at the beyerdynamic company location in Heilbronn - by hand. Sound-relevant components such as the membrane, the dynamic transducer and the microphone basket are not purchased, but are manufactured in-house.

Great for Bass amps and Kick Drums , but really a very versatile mic like an SM57 but with great low end or Proximity effect.

This is a full sounding mic, it pickups all your voice and it a louder mic which I need cause I sing soft at times , if you need the mic to do the work for you then this is it, I play a lot of gigs and my voice gets tired, I need a mic that helps me , I have use many different mics like 58s , all the ev's , Audio technica, you name it , this blows them all away , if you need a mic that will pickup the low end of your voice, this does it . If your a screamer or shouter then this is not for you, this mic is for someone that uses technique in their voice. Well worth the money.
