Your cart is empty.The NEW Red T-Handle design will give you a much easier-to-use installation tool. It’s wider and is slightly longer than the previous Black installation tool. It will give you better leverage to tap the replacement Brass Inserts (H-D Part# 16585-96) into the inner fairing. The factory press-in inserts pulling out or spinning is not an uncommon occurrence and quite often needs replacing at one time or another. Easy enough to use on the road in an emergency situation. If your windshield starts shaking that’s a good sign something is loose. A screw is loose or the Brass Insert is striped or spinning in the fairing. In the 1996-2022 year models, there are several used internally for brackets and various other applications. These are NOT inserts used for woodworking. These brass inserts can NOT be bought at a home-fix-it store. Detailed instructions are included for the use of the install tool.

the inserts work great but the tool that came with them was not the best. I made a tool using a 1/4x20 1" bolt with two hex nuts double locked with a flat washer to seat the inserts flush to my inner fairing. the tool supplied kept spinning when the insert was about 1/8" from being flush to the fairing hole. That made the job easier after that. Also as another customer recommended I put a drop of red locktite on each insert as an extra step. the price was good and Amazon Prime made shipping quick. .I gave4stars because of the Flimsy tool that was included.

This tool and inserts fix my windshield vibration i have been trying to fix for two years awesome fix for batwing windshield nut inserts that losen up replacing them with these screw in inserts works awesome

The stock insert on one screw had pulled out of my inner fairing. These saved the day, and are as easy to use as described. Other users have mentioned the T-handle broke on them. I did not have this problem.

I was a little skeptical that something would work so good and be so simple and not that expensive. I had to replace all three fittings on my 01 Electra Glide and they worked just as advertised. Now my front fairing is really tight and the windscreen is held as it should be. These are definitely a necessity and something to keep on hand if you have a fairing on your bike!
