My battery holder for my 1995.5 Tacoma 2.7L 4WD was so rotted the steel was rusting and flaking off every time I touched it. But this product is the exact same shape and the holes line up, and all the issues I’ve ever had with cheap replacements were put to rest when I got this thing in my hands. It’s truly solid and of great quality.I cannot articulate enough how happy I am with this battery holder. One pro tip: if you still have the original down rod from your battery holder use that one because it’s a little thicker than the one you get with this. But in the end I’m sure it would work just fine. Also, you’ll need to supply the bolt for the front side of the holder (I think is an M8 but I’m sure you can just Google it or look on Tacoma world and they would have a resource). If anything changes I’ll come back and edit this post, otherwise I highly recommend!

Fits like OEM and works like intended. It’s basically a bent piece of metal that has been powder coated but it the same shape and fits really good and easy. They also supplied the rods and hardware for mounting. I’d recommend.

> KIEMT Battery Clamp Kit 74404-35140 for Toyota Tacoma ~$20The Good:+ Fits like original+ Metal of crossbar is as thick as originalThe Bad:- Screw retainer rod is much smaller (thinner rod) than original. You can use your old one if necessary.- Doesn't include the screw for the other side of the bracket.Overall a good choice if yours got corroded from the battery.

I almost consider these parts as a wear and tear item that need to be replace due to the fact they sit on top of the battery and the acid will eventually eat thru the tie down.Compared this to the rust and acid eaten factory one and it's the exactly the same dimension. The only thing I see different is that the factory bracket uses a thicker gauge steel than this one.Other than that. It fits my 1999 Toyota 4-Runner (pretty much the same thing as a 96-2004 Toyota Tacoma. No issues and would buy again for any 1st Gen Tacoma/3rd Gen 4-Runner that needs one.
