I’ve had bamboo viscose sheets for a number of years and I’ve always wanted a bamboo blanket. Some of the “popular” blankets are SO expensive so I decided to give Amazon a try. My goodness….I LOVE this blanket! Don’t let the way the blanket feels right out of the box fool you- this is such a great buy. It’s so soft, it’s the perfect weight/thickness for all seasons. I’m a menopausal woman with incredible temperature sensitivity and this breathes well enough to keep me cool and my husband warm.Another thing I like is when it is washed it doesn’t change the consistency of the fabrics inside the viscose cover. Some blankets get lumpy or fall to one side of a sewn hem. I’ve washed this almost 10 times and it comes out perfect every time. :)I’m getting ready to buy another one for alternating wash cycles (so I don’t have to wait on laundry to go to bed) because I love this one so much. I can’t recommend this more, especially for this price. 10/10!

I needed a grey blanket and this caught my eye because of the word "cooling." I've had a few bamboo products before with good results. While this is cool to the touch, I can't say it cools my body. It just doesn't trap heat like thicker comforters. This is a thin comforter (or insert) that feels like quality. It also looks good, but the curved sewing lines made me initially think there was a manufacturing error. There is not, that's the stitching design. It comes out of the wash and dry looking and feeling excellent. I compared this to a thin comforter from Target. They both don't trap heat easily, and are lightweight sturdy feeling comforters. The texture and feel of this one blows the Target comforter out of the water. The target comforter cost $20, so compared to this one at around $50, it's not a bad buy. I want another one of these in another color. I like it that much!

However, I quickly noticed a few drawbacks that tempered my enthusiasm.PROS• Cool to the Touch: The comforter does feel cool, which is a plus for hot sleepers. (Not like Q-Max fabric – but, those nylon blends ultimately don’t have the same all night cooling properties as breathable moisture wick fabrics like bamboo viscose.)• Weight: It has a nice weight—neither too heavy nor too light—making it ideal for summer use. This is a significant issue with a lot of the cooling blankets – you don’t want to feel like you’re only under a sheet, but you still want to feel “tucked in” and want it to feel as cool as if you are only under a sheet. This blanket finds that balance well.• Color: The dark gray is a rich, almost faded black, which complements my existing dark gray bedding.• Durability: The hem seems strong, and the bamboo material appears to be a type of rayon that resists wrinkling, likely making it more durable through washes.CONS• Misleading Material Description: The original listing stated that this was a 100% bamboo viscose duvet insert. It’s actually a bamboo (cotton rayon blend) cover with a polyester fill. This was disappointing as I was specifically looking for a bamboo insert to maintain breathability.• Smell: There is a noticeable smell that hasn’t dissipated even after several days of airing out. I recommend washing it before use.• Corner Tabs: It only has four corner tabs, which is less than I’ve come to expect from mid-tier and higher bedding. Even lower-end duvet inserts often come with eight tabs for better stability.• Texture and Cost: It lacks the silky softness and sheen of other viscose comforters I own, despite being almost twice the price. (Again, the tradeoff may mean greater durability in the long run.)OVERALL EXPERIENCEWhile the comforter does sleep cooler than my pure polyester and microfiber options, it doesn’t quite meet my expectations for a bamboo duvet INSERT. If you don’t already own a cooling comforter, you might appreciate the difference more. We purchased the white cover. I love this comforter/cover. We use it without a duvet. We live in South Florida and I have been looking for something we can use year round since it’s so hot in the summers and we have a few chilly nights in the winter.The blanket is amazing at staying cool and never gets hot. We have been through so many comforters looking for one exactly like this. It’s so soft and I can’t wait to go to sleep every night because of it. The only downside is that it wrinkles easily but I couldn’t care less with how cool and comfortable it is. One of the best blankets I’ve ever purchased.

This quilt works pretty well as a cooling quilt (not in a duvet) in the summer though it doesn't look so great after a few washes, so don't count on this as a top cover. I actually use it in between a soft blanket and light quilt in the winter and it's just about the perfect weight and temperature.

I don't know what magic this fabric is made of... but it works as described. It's nice quality, plenty big for our bed, and does have a nice cooling effect! I'm one of those people that likes a cool room with a fan directed toward my face while I sleep under a weighted blanket. This allowed me to add another layer without overheating. Very pleased.
