I bought the tray for the arm of my sofa. Shortly after had an accident and was using sofa differently and found the heaviness of the allowed me to also use it on the sofa itself due to my limitations.

I really like this bamboo arm rest tray. It’s got a slot for drinks or your phone, and it molds nicely to the arm of my chair. I’m not sure I’d pay $23.99+tax for this though; seems a bit pricey for what it is.

I already own a self clamping sofa arm table, that has spring sides to keep it on the sofa arm. It's been working well, but I wanted another one for the love seat. I'm really on the fence with this one, since it's very different than my other one and I don't feel it works as well, or what I'm used to.First, this one is smaller than my old one, and my favorite coffee cup doesn't fit in either of the two trays. Second, it does grip, but doesn't feel as stable as the spring grip one, which doesn't move at all. This one just kind of sits on the arm, drapes over each side, and the backing keeps it from sliding around a lot, but it still can move. My sofa and love seat have wider arms, closer to the description picture noting it fits on "curved" arms, but I will say the sides stick out farther since they don't grip tightly.
