Smells like what you might expect wet wool with the sheep to smell like. Works fantastic on most leathers but the smell needs management. I highly recommend the product just not fond of odor.

Excellent results with this product. When they say it cleans and lubricates, they aren't foolin' around. The only thing not to like about this is that it's a pricey product. Worth the money, but still a bit pricey. If you're using it to soak large handguns and their parts in, you're going to need more than one can. For small parts, one can is fine.No chemical smell, plus it's environmentally friendly and non toxic.Ballistol is a great example of the consumer getting what they pay for. This is a product that lives up to its hype. Buy and use with confidence.

This is an excellent product for cleaning and lubrcating guns or other items with metal or moving parts. It's very good for cleaning guns after firing corrosive ammo, using 1 part Ballistol with 10 parts water. Does a superb job.

This is amazing stuff. I have a huge collection of different gun oils and I don't touch any of it now that I have used Ballistol. The only thing I touch is RIG Grease for very long term storage, the rest sits. This stuff has great corrosion protection. I collect military surplus firearms and haven't seen a speck of rust since I started using this. I wipe all the metal down on my guns after every trip to the range, and every 6 months if I don't use the firearm. This, along with storing everything in silicone gun socks, has prevented all rust. I live in a damp old house and I had 3 rifles rust on me and it really freaked me out. This was despite wiping them down after every range trip. I believe CLP is what failed me.Now that I use this, no more problems. It's a good lubricant too, and even works on wood! This stuff is a slow copper remover. I leave all my bores pretty well soaked in this stuff, then I run a patch through it before I shoot. The patch always comes out blue from removing copper while it sits. It doesn't do anything for copper in the short term, however. Don't expect it to do anything while you're cleaning the firearm, but it will gradually if you leave it in the bore. This is also great for using after shooting corrosive ammo. Mix it 1 part Ballistol to 10 parts water. It will look like milk. Flush the bore and exposed metal parts with that, then dry. Run a few patches of pure Ballistol thru the bore and wipe everything down with a soaked rag and you're done.

First, the product is water based, actually I believe an emulsion of mineral oil with a suractant and corrosion inhibitor(s) a must have when ustiling a water based product on metal substrate. Thus, no worries when using this water based product on one's precious weapon. The product readily disolves, cleans, lubricates AND protects your weapon's surfaces, so, it does just about all you can ask for except provide the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model to do the job for you. Because of the blend of lubricant, surfactant which both helps emulsifty the oil and remove carbon and other misc. debris, with the corrosion inhibitor happily ladened upon the surface protecting. My theory is the water evaporates first, leaving the oil (lube) in conjunction with the corrosion inhibitor on the metal. Excellent for steel, chromed, and even painted surfaces. Last, the 16 0z. container has no spray device, but simply go to your local hardware store and purchase a $1-2 nozzle which can be used for several years depending upon the place of origin OR like I did, use an old Windex spray nozzle which has the same threading.

I bought this to use on an old .22 boys rifle that came out of my great-uncles house. The wood stock was in poor shape and I don't know if it had ever been cleaned. I purchased this product because I'm lazy and sloppy and I wanted a cleaner that could get on the stock without damaging it.Let me tell you, this stuff works. Spray it or pour it on (mine came with a free little squeeze bottle as an unadvertised bonus gift. Thank you, MIS Outdoors) leave it for 10 minutes and come back with a barrel snake and it comes out clean. Wipe it on the stock and it brings up the color and gives it a nice shine, without leaving a greasy mess. The action on the gun is now free and easy and no longer all gummed up with grime.I then used it on the bearings of a Xootr MG kick scooter, and they spun like glass, poured a little on a rag and wiped the deck down and not only did it clean the road grime off, it shone like it was new again.I even used it to clean and lube my paintball gun, O rings and all. What I really like best about it, besides that it works, is the smell. It smells sweet and faintly of licorice, and doesn't give me a headache or an asthma attack when I use it.So if you are looking for something that works and won't stink up your house, this is it.
