1. Pop off the leaf top
2. Spoon your loose leaf tea into the stainless steel cup

I make my own herbal blend tea and this tea holder let pieces of herbs through the holes. I had lots of herbs floating around in my cup. The holes are larger than I was expecting. I had to buy a different herbal tea holder so I don’t recommend.
