Baby on the way, so need something to monitor. The good: unit seems well made with good fit/finish, camera is is nice both in daylight mode and with night vision, has 360 rotation (but cannot spin all the way around, there is a stop on each rotation direction), pan & zoom are intuitive with a smartphone or table once you download the app. The neutral: the voice transmission and camera controls have a 1 - 3 second lag even when they are in very close proximity, camera unit is a little slow to boot when turning on (plugging in). The not-so-good: instructions could be better, app has toggle that makes it easy to inadvertently store info in the cloud, camera unit needs UNIQUE 2.4Ghz network SSID name that is different than any other SSID name that is used by other frequencies broadcast by the router. Example: Xfinity modem/router default is to have the same SSID name for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi networks. During setup camera unit would not connect to 2.4Ghz with the SSID name and password. It wasn't until the 2.4Ghz SSID was changed to something different than the 5Ghz SSID was the device able to connect. Pairing process because of this (and non-helpful messages from the camera unit and app) was a 45 minute exercise in frustration. Camera unit is great, app/software/instructions less so. Since that hurdle has been overcome, happy to have it.

I recently purchased the Babytone Smart Baby Monitor 2.5K Cam for a 2-year-old who recently transitioned to a toddler bed. After a few uses, I’m really impressed with the monitor’s performance.Pros:1. Large, Bendable Rubber Arm for Easy Mounting – The bendable rubber arm allows easy attachment to the bedpost or other furniture, making it a perfect fit for a toddler’s room. The flexible design ensures the camera is positioned just right, and it’s simple to move around if needed. Plus, the included solid mount for attaching to the wall or ceiling gives more flexibility in how you set it up for the best viewing angle.2. 8x Remote Zoom – The 8x remote zoom feature is fantastic for getting a closer view of the baby without needing to manually adjust the camera. This allows parents to zoom in for a better look at their child’s movements from a distance, adding convenience and peace of mind.3. Cry/Motion Detection – The cry and motion detection features are helpful for parents. It sends notifications when there’s any movement or if the child is crying, providing peace of mind when your little one is adjusting to a toddler bed and potentially moving around more.4. Two-Way Audio – The two-way audio allows parents to not only listen but also speak to their child, which is great for calming them down from another room if they’re restless or calling out.5. Pan & Tilt via the App – At first, I thought this camera only had manual pan and tilt, but I later realized you can actually move the camera remotely just by swiping on the screen in the app. This makes it much more convenient to adjust the view as needed without having to reposition the camera manually.6. Oxygen and Heart Rate Monitor Pairing – While I’m not using this feature yet, it’s a great future addition. The monitor is compatible with an oxygen and heart rate monitor sock, which can be paired to track vital signs. This will be especially useful if they have another baby or if they want to add another layer of reassurance.7. MicroSD Card Slot – The camera includes a microSD card slot, allowing for recording and storing footage (microSD card not included). This is a great feature for reviewing footage of your child’s sleep or movements, giving an extra level of security and convenience for parents.8. Affordable and Easy to Set Up – For all the features it offers, the price is reasonable. The FREE app is easy to navigate, and setting the camera up was quick and straightforward.9. Encourages Bedtime Independence – It helps encourage the child to stay in bed, as they know they’re being monitored. It also gives the toddler a sense of security, knowing that a parent or caregiver is nearby.Cons:1. Camera Size – The camera is a little bulkier than other options, which may take up more space on a nightstand or dresser. (Not really a con, but worth noting)2. May Take Some Time to Get Used To – It may take a little while for the toddler to adjust to being monitored, but this is something that will likely become less of an issue as they grow accustomed to bedtime routines. Conclusion:Overall, the Babytone Smart Baby Monitor is a great choice for a toddler’s room. With clear video, reliable cry and motion detection, pan and tilt that can be controlled directly from the app, and the ability to pair with an oxygen and heart rate monitor sock, it offers excellent value for the price. The bendable rubber arm and wall/ceiling mount provide flexible positioning, and the two-way audio is a great feature for soothing the little one from a distance. The built-in microSD card slot is another bonus for recording footage. If you're looking for an affordable yet feature-rich baby monitor, this one is definitely worth considering.

Works great, I got this for when the new grand babies visit and stay over. When I put them down in the bassinet I don't always have time to stay in the room with them, I have 2 other big grandkids who require a lot of grandma time. So I can keep an eye on them, hear them, and talk back to them. With a 5 month old and newborn I need to be able to see both spots they are sleeping. This turns and works exactly like it should. I haven't had any problems and I just have it sitting on a dresser. Very easy to set up and use.

I know some people say that you shouldn't get a baby monitor with wifi capability because of safety concerns, but this is the 2nd monitor that I've had with wifi capability and zero issues. If you're worried about security issues, I would say don't leave it on 24/7. I turn mine completely off when I don't need it or am not actively using it.Anyways, if you're looking at this product then you're probably fine with it and are actually searching for one that can be used away from home. This was one of my preferred features. I wanted to be able to check in on my monitor while I was away from home. You can do so with this one. And it works well. There's 2 way talk, so you can actually press a button in the app and speak to your child/pet/person from wherever you may be. This provides such peace of mind. This is easy to use. Nothing complicated about the setup and pairing. The price is right for all of the convenient features it offers. You can move the camera around, left to right, up and down. This is a great option for a baby monitor or pet monitor. It would make a great baby shower gift to a new mom. I like it!
