I wanted to get ahead of the summer rush and ordered this for my little one. The colors and sizing were spot on and fits my baby now with room to grow by summer. I will try anything to prevent my fair girl from sun burn.For reference, my little one is currently 9 months and 20 pounds. She has been following clothing sizes true to her age.

Such a cute swim set. Love the long sleeves to protect my baby’s sensitive light skin. Swimsuit is really nice thick material and a great quality! Can’t wait for summer I know my baby will get lots of use out of this!

I grew up around seamstresses and was a pretty skilled seamstress myself by the time I was 12; my parents own a bridal shop and did custom sewing and alterations.I pay attention to clothing construction when buying for myself or my family.I got this for my newborn granddaughter because sewing tiny zippers in tiny clothing is no tiny task. I'd rather let someone else do it at this point in my life, lol. I bought a size 6-12 month because she'll be in that size when summer comes and she is introduced to swimming and water play.I saw this swimsuit and was charmed by its fun pattern - like melted sherbet in a bowl, lol.Once I opened the packaging, I was inspecting it carefully for flaws and construction issues.The main body of the top and neckline is constructed using 4-thread overlock, which is ideal for swim and athletic knits. This means there won't be bulky little seams rubbing up against tender skin. The seams are encased and lying flat.The overlock is tight, consistent tension and no puckering or gaps. The thread is appropriate for swimwear. And, yes, thread matters.The bottom and sleeve hems are not overlocked, which is fine. If you overlock a hem, it curls and ruffles up. Fine if that's the look you are going for, but I like the use of a standard stitch. This is even. Again, no puckering.And the fabric is soft, even in the elastic leg openings of the bottoms. I inspected the openings for anything scratchy - like random plastic tags. Nothing. The leg openings were soft and comfortable, a good opening size so putting them on little legs won't be a challenge.The arm length is appropriate for the size.The zipper, though, is what I was concerned about.I inspected that very closely. A cheap painted zipper will have jagged edges around the pull and even the top of the zipper. This zipper pull is smooth all around. Also, the zipper itself is a good one for swimsuits. It has no crappy teeth that are irregular (this is what causes stops while you zip/unzip).What also causes stops and snags is having the fabric too close to the zipper teeth themselves, creating a situation where the zipper snags in the fabric and gets stuck. Unsticking fabric often damages the fabric.This was set off the proper distance from the zipper and pull. I would have sewn the bottom of the zipper differently. This was just sewn down the side, across the bottom, then back up the other side. It's fine and it's an acceptable way to sew in a zipper. But, I learned to do an "X" at the bottom, to secure down the bottom of zippers, to keep them from curling up and rubbing against skin. (Wedding dresses are mostly worn right up against bare skin, so that's how we did it and how I learned it, lol.)I will probably add that to the bottom of the zipper, just to prevent the bottom of the zipper from curling up and rubbing against her tender back. It's not hard to do, and the very bottom of the zipper can be even be secured down using a simple tac stitch. The thoughtful tab over the top of the zipper MORE than makes up for the choice not to tac down the bottom of the zipper the way I like it, lol.That tab folds over the top of the zipper so the zipper pull doesn't get stuck sticking out, which can be really uncomfortable to lean back against or lay down on. Plus, zipper pulls not locked down against the zipper can come undone, so this helps prevent that from happening. A really thoughtful and smart touch to add, and that is a bonus star in my book.The swimsuit material is an SPF 50, so tender skin has added protection from the sun. It's lightweight and breathable, but the weave is tight enough to keep harmful UV rays out.I am very happy with this little swimsuit and have zero hesitation having my new granddaughter wear it this coming summer.

Great swimming suit in terms of providing coverage from the sun. Material seems to be of good quality and washed nicely. It did have a smell when it first came out of the package, but one wash resolved that. The bottoms are a little bigger than average for the size we bought, but that’s preferable to being too small.

This is a cute set for my little one but the size is for a baby that would be using a swim diaper since this didn’t come with one. It’s only a swimsuit so keep that in mind when purchasing. Not sure if I would even use the bottoms since they’re not shorts or a swim diaper. Other than that I appreciate the long sleeves and SPF material. Perfect for summer days and beach/pool/splashpad outings.

I bought this swim suit for my 4 year old and she loved the toucans. It was bright and colorful so I can spot her across the pool at her swim lessons. It was very easy to put on and take off and it fit perfectly.
