These bed rails are easy to "install" - a U-shaped bar slides under the mattress to hold it in place and the height can be adjusted to account for different mattress heights. So basically it is held in place by counterweight. The netting and bar feel stable, even with my 2 year old pushing against it it doesn't move. When not in use the net can swing down and out of the way which is nice. I knocked off one star because the little pictures on the netting tend to distract my toddler. We only use this when we travel though so I'm sure he'd find something else to delay bedtime no matter what, but it still makes the rail look a little cheesy and wouldn't blend with his room decor if we were to use it at home.

I normally don’t write reviews. We were looking for a rail that wasn’t too big and that was easy to open and close. My 2 year old was loving sleeping on her own twin bed since we moved to a new place but had started falling off the bed during her sleep randomly during the night. She hasn’t fallen off the bed ever since since we started using this! It was so easy to put together and use; I put it together without my husband’s help lol. When we swing it down, it doesn’t look too bulky with the bedding. It works really well and helps keep her on the bed during the night too so we all get to sleep peacefully. I use this in combination with another guard on the other side that’s more of a foam bumper that goes directly on the mattress and the combination works really well.

Before the rail my dogs fell off the bed twice. Problem solved with the rail. Very nice

Assembling this guard rail was really easy and it is sturdy. The price is reasonable and it’s held up great!

We use this to keep objects from falling off the bed while we're working on a project, and it works great for that. With the 32" model, we're able to leave it on the bed (near the footboard) all the time, and it's very convenient to raise the side up when we need it. With the bar slid under the mattress, the guard rail is very solid - I can see it doing a great job of preventing a toddler from falling off the bed.If we had kids, we'd likely have gotten the 48" model, just to provide that additional security along a larger area of the bed. I wouldn't leave a child unattended on the bed, but I would certainly feel much more comfortable with this guard rail in place while I'm there playing with them.

This bed rail has been a useful addition to my son’s bed. He has always been an active sleeper and the rolling out was scaring both of us in the middle of the night. I started with those inflatable bumpers but they didn’t always stay put. Plus he would play with them and then they wouldn’t be in the right place. This is a true rail and it has stopped him from rolling out on numerous occasions. I would recommend this rail for those kiddos who seem to do acrobatics in their sleep and need a little extra safety!

It was simple to set up, and a good tool to keep by the bedside to prevent a child from falling off the bed. I got the shorter length which may be a bit short but at least it can cover part of the bed. It's easy to remove when not in use.
