I ship a lot of rolled prints and have been using the top of the line super heavy duty Y. M. brand for years. Those are really nice (roughly twice as thick/heavy as these), but rather expensive and the weight does affect shipping cost. Plus, the thickness is a bit of overkill for all but very high-value prints.These are a great compromise. Out of the box I was pleasantly surprised at their ‘heft’ and sturdiness. These are not cheap throwaway big box store “mailing tubes” as I feared they would be.I got the “Kraft heavy duty” 4” diameter version and I think they’ll do fine. Thick without being TOO thick.Oh - yes, endcaps are included in the box and appear to be exactly like the Y. M. caps.

So I don’t use these for packaging so I cannot attest to how well they hold up (although I would assume rather well because these are thick and sturdy). I use these for my hamster. When we brought her home she made a home in a large cardboard roll for candy and we cut a hole in it and took the end off of one side. She started to pee in one end of it so I went looking for another one. Little did I realize that they came in such large qualities. But it works out well-when she has made one roll too stinky it gets tossed and a new one comes out. I end up cutting them in half bc they are quite long for her cage and I cut one hole on the side to have another exit and keep one of the caps on. She loves her little home and won’t sleep elsewhere so overall it’s a great buy. They take up a lot of room for storage but it was a worthy purchase. I do have a lot of trouble cutting the hole into this and cutting it in half-but that goes to speak to its sturdiness. It’s thick and would store things safely.
