Update:The patch never held. Had to replace the entire liner the following year which cost around $1,000 doing it on my own. NEVER cut a hole in your liner.Ok. Got the AWG Big Bahama skimmer and waterfall weir. Purchased this compatible bottom drain and ignored advice of two very experienced koi acquaintances. I believed I knew better and trusted AWG to make a hole in the new liner for the bulkhead to run the 2" PVC to the skimmer. I'll give you the same advice that I stupidly ignored. DO NOT CUT A HOLE IN YOUR LINER EVER!!! I cut the hole to allow for the RPE liner to settle after installation. It settled much more than expected and was at an extreme angle. Regardless, followed the directions and what could I do after around 4,500 of the 6,500 gallons was pumped into my new pond. Yeah. The next morning was The worst possible outcome. A leak where this liner was cut. To properly repair the hole, I had to drain ALL of this water out. Patched the hole as advised by liner manufacturer and added more reinforcement with liner tape, etc. THEN, especially since the remainder of this bottom drain is INSIDE of the pond liner, I took the 2" FLEX PVC tube over the liner and down to the rigid PVC connections. 2" flex PVC tubing is a BEAR to bend, but all working well now with no leaks. Will hide exposed 2" black flex PVC tubing with live plant placed in container inside of pond. Did I mention. ...DO NOT CUT A HOLE IN YOUR LINER!
