The assembly acts like a regulator which control water amount and water pressure flowing through the feed hose and finally into the pool cleaner. The pressure relief valve automatically releases excess pressure when it is too high from booster pump.

I thought it was going to be a perfect replacement for our Polaris brand accessory that came with the vacuum many years ago; however, this piece was only on for a few months (mainly non-swimming months so no way it could have been damaged by a child or something) and just snapped when I turned the vacuum on.

Actually bought this same replacement part last year from a name brand company and it seemed flimsy and failed before the end of the season. This one seems much sturdier and works beautifully! It’s like I have a new vacuum again.

The circle piece on the side leaked water as soon as I installed this in the pool. I checked and double checked and it’s just flat out defective. Took the old one off of my other unit and bam….no water leak. Because of this leak, the product was useless for me because leak=no pressure to your hose=very puny vacuuming. Will not purchase this product again!
