This mat fits well under under my granddaughter’s blow up bed and prevents any cold coming through the floor. Plus gives extra cushioning.

We purchased these for a cold weather camping to put underneath our regular camp pads. They were recommended by a friend who does a lot of extreme backpacking and she did not steer us wrong. We've camped in sub 20 degrees twice with these and did not have issues with the cold Earth (but we did also have two sleeping bags each). They've held up for two car camping trips so far. One now has a rip on the foil due to carelessness but it should hold up fine with a little duct tape.

I actually bought this for insulation in a camper. Seems to be doing the job

I like this product because it is silent. Many high R-value backpacking sleeping pads produce a crinkling noise when you move in your sleep. This cheap lightweight pad adds a protective layer between my average inflatable pad (the very popular Sleepingo) and the ground while also increasing my separation from the cold ground. And it is silent. A perfect solution and easy on the wallet.

For those of you, like me, who are patiently waiting for Gossamer Gear and MLD to restock their 1/8 pads and are looking for a temporary replacement: -- this ain't it. I liked the thought of a 1/4" pad with the mylar coating, but unfortunately this just doesn't have the heartiness required for long backpacking trips. Mine began to tear up on a two night trip - the mylar is bubbling up and the foam can hardly take being taken on and off of my pack throughout the day, much less being used as a sit pad regularly. I'm sure there is a time and a place for this thing, but a long backpacking trip isn't it. Hope this helps someone! -Hotpants

This is not your best option if you are looking for a luxurious and comfortable sleep surface. It does however block out the cold and it does provide a little padding. It is perfect as a supplemental cushion that allows you to extend a summer style air pad to a three or four season pad. These are cheap enough that you can pick up a couple and cut the second one up to become camp sitting or kneeling pads. I am sure that the mylar surface does ad a marginal amount of reflected radiant heat. Unfortunately, that mylar surface also ads a level of slipperiness to the pad. The foam side of the pad will stay in place while the mylar side slides around. If you toss and turn at night, it is best to put the mylar side down. That way, the pad will stay connected to your sleeping bag even though it might move on the tent floor. Of course, this may not be a good idea if you are sleeping on a slope.Overall, this is a great buy for the price.

The warning on the packaging says that this product can expose you to chemicals including Bisphenol A which is known to cause brith defects or other reproductive harm. The seller makes you pay postage for delivery and then pay for postage again for the return of the toxic mats.

My ship date for this product was supposed to be a couple of weeks from now? It was the first thing to arrive from my order in about 2 days time! This pad is longer and thicker than anticipated. Yes, I did see the measurements but they always seem to be a tad shy of what is stated if you know what I mean? But not with this item! It is well made. The foil lining is adhered to the rest of the mat very well with no lifting along the edges. The attached elastic loops for keeping it rolled up are awesome and attached well. Unrolled it is very long. I laid down on it with just a light t shirt and sweat pants and immediately felt the heat radiated back towards me from the reflective side. My two dogs and I immediately started rolling around on it and neither ones toe nails punctured it yet both are due to have their nails trimmed. When rolled up the circumference is just over 16 inches with the total across the center being only 5 inches across. This rolls nice and small and will be much easier to transport than my egg crate pad! I may have to get 2 more as these will stow on the sides inside of my jeep in the back and save valuable room to pack bulkier items like my tent and cooler. I'm also thinking of cutting one in half and using each halve as a dog pad while hanging around camp to keep the dogs from getting chilled. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Have used this several times on 25-35 degree evening and it really cut the cold. A bit bulky on my pack but overall a good buy and good pad
