Less chance of skipping the point across whatever you’re trying not to scratch/gouge. Strikes much harder than your typical $20 spring punch. The only con is it requires two hands to use. But so does a standard punch and hammer.Cost is subjective at almost double the price but you do get two punches in the set so maybe it’s a wash.

This thing is really nice to have around, it's compact and while you can say the normal push punches fill the same role, there are some upsides such as when the point you're trying to make is just deep enough into a hole that a push punch can reach but can't be pushes far enough to punch. This usually will reach. Only downside is you can accidently slip since you're pulling back on the tool, so be careful you don't pull back harder than you push farward.I've had two, and the only reason I had to buy a second was that first rolled behind some lockers at a school I was working at. The current one does have a dent near the tip, but considering I was using it to break what was left of a lock off, I'd say it stood up to me misusing it fairly well. I could easily reprofile the tip, but I'm also considering getting another and letting the one with the damaged tip be my smashing punch if I ever do decide I've destroyed it enough, but it still works great at making marks and I've only damaged one side.

This makes drilling holes very easy to get right the first time. If u like things to be struggle free then this will help

Broke after first time using to shear aluminum rivet heads. Not I’mpressed and called tool company wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone so left a message. Will see if the limited life warranty holds truth. I wouldn’t buy again.

I use this to start a hole for glass shower installations. Great tool. Had it for five months now. I use it every day for multiple installations. The tip is starting to flatten out, but it’s definitely one I’ll buy again. Great product.
