The new set “kids” is made of new Nylgut, produced in Italy on extruding machines. Thanks to a proper balance of string gauges it fits soprano, concert and tenor ukulele sizes. If installed on tenor size the tension drops and creates a comfortable feeling especially for kids.

For some reason, these just don't stay in tune as well as my regular aquila nylugt strings, even after several weeks. They also feel stiffer somehow. I strung my daughter's and my ukulele with these colored strings because I thought the visual would be helpful to her as she was learning but they are actually kind of a hinderance since they so quickly fall out of tune. Would not recommend these though I have had good luck with their other nylon strings.

I really like this set of strings. The different color for each string makes you want to play more.

These are wonderful strings. I learned Ukelele on them. The colors help you see the correct string when learning to fingerpick. Hateful people get upset about rainbows and rainbow people. That's another excellent reason to use these strings.

These strings are great! First off Aquila makes the best ukulele strings in my book and these new Nylgut strings really hold up well and hold there tune. I have bought ukuleles for all of my grandchildren. The string pack includes How to’s for holding the uke, tuning, and a cute little tune to play. I help the young one follow the directions as we do together. Funny at first, they are strumming and singing everything, of course it’s their music and their chords, but they eventually want to know or start figuring out then you know that little one is ready to playin our uke band.

Overall this is a nice concept, adds some appeal to my sons ukulele and it’s a neat way to make learning a bit more fun. For the price they should have given enough string to install twice because at this price it’s as expensive as top quality stings. Maybe they could have included more learning material or fret stickers. Overall I’m happy with the item, it does the intended job, Howe river the value is less than impressive.

I put these strings on my grandson's starter ukulele. Helps a lot to be able to say put this finger on the yellow string. They offer pretty good sound. I also bought a couple of sets for ukuleles I have at work for my students to tinker around on. Definitely good for teaching newbies.

Ok, I bought these things for my daughter to learn on her Kala "Makala" ukulele. I didn't have a lot of expectations for these strings since they were marketed for kids. I put these on and after about 2 days of stretching, they are sounding really nice! They are bright and help to have a pretty good sustain. Do understand all strings take days and even a few weeks before they really stop stretching. Playing on the strings helps break them in a little faster. Don't get discouraged and it's not really a bad ukulele or bad strings when they just keep stretching. The string colors are vibrant and it will help me teach my daughter as I can call out a color instead of a string number. As opposed to clear flourocarbon I have on my ukes, these Kids strings are much easier to see.A side note, the original Aquila strings that were have said to come from the factory with the Makala uke were the source of my intonation problems. These "Kids" strings helped to fix it.TLDR; These are marketed for teaching kids but aren't just for kids. At about double the price of normal Aquila New Nylgut, they sound great. Aquila hit the spot with these! 5/5

Installs easy. Brighter sound than I expected, feels a bit tight at first tuning. Had to do a lot of stretching and tuning the first day but it seems to be sticking pretty fine after. The original nylon uke strings were a tad bit thicker which I felt was better for first timers. These strings feel sturdy and have a nice soft feeling yet wound tight which makes for an interesting balance. Don’t think there will be any soreness from playing so that’s nice. Biggest plus is the color coded strings for young learners.

If you're learning uke or teaching absolute beginners - take the confusion out of the process. With colored strings, teaching/learning is simplified. Aquila are NOT substandard strings. They also make strings of uniform color. Great strings - they stretch out pretty quickly (few days - a week) and hold tune reasonably well. All ukuleles need to be tuned every time you play them - so if you select these for a 1st string, don't think there is anything wrong with them if you have re-tune.
