We purchased this two-pack for the two standard 20-lb propane tanks mounted on our motorhome. They work as advertised, and along with a phone app, make monitoring our propane levels a breeze. However, the sensors require a bit more looking-after than I'd ideally like.Installation is very straightforward. Strong magnets mount the sensor on the bottom of the propane tank, and feet for the tank are provided if you need to raise the tank slightly to make room for the sensor (which we did). The app does its job of providing an overall view of all your tank levels in one place. It also provides optional customizable notifications if your levels get low. Since we're in a motorhome that moves, our tanks can slosh around and cause annoying spurious notifications, so we turned them off.We have two fairly minor criticisms that prevent us from rating this 5 stars. First, our sensors arrived with batteries that were almost dead. We had to replace them almost immediately after installation. It might have been better to ship these with plastic tabs that you pull to "activate" the sensor by unblocking the battery contact. Second, we've found that the sensor behavior gets flaky when tank levels get very low. It seems that very low levels may confuse the sensors somewhat, and cause them to report "low quality" results. The sensors do recognize that their data in this case is of low reliability, but the app interface doesn't highlight this very well, and the resulting display might mislead you to believing the level is different than it really is.

Update: These sensors are very accurate until the tank gets below 10%. After this point I noticed the sensors become erratic and honestly you just can’t tell how much you have left when it gets low. I did have an issue with them connecting to my phone after being away for a while but my fix for that was recycling the Bluetooth on my phone.I was a bit skeptical after some of the reviews I read about this product but just like one of the reviews I read, make sure you follow the instructions. The metal clips for the bottom of the tank work perfect and we’re easy to install. After that I cleaned the bottom of the tank, put some of the supplied grease on the sensor to prevent it from sticking and installed them on to my tanks. As soon as I opened the app the tanks were reading. I obviously have no idea what the exact amount was before the reading but they seem accurate because I have 2 tanks and one is full, the other I have used on a couple of trips and is reading 66% which seems about right. Also the tank felt at least 50% percent full when I picked it up and compared it to the other tank.In the end the sensors were super easy to install, the app downloaded no problem and everything synced up within seconds. Like I said before if you follow the instructions they should work no problem. I would recommend this product to anyone who is curious about there propane tank levels.

With ease you can know what's going on with the propane tank level. I have no problem at all with the Blue Tooth connection or readings.I'm using a different type of setup Since I just want to know when the tank is a at or below half and when it is almost empty. I also did not want to mess with the sensors underneath the tank. It's heavy and sits in the dirt. It gets wet under the tank with rain, snow and ice. The tank with lift clips with just sink into the dirt. I did not want to build a platform. So,,,,,, I placed two sensors in the tank in use. One halfway down (The pic shows the top sensor on 40 lbs tanks about 1/3 down while testing) and the other near the bottom about 1-2 gallons remaining.- This way I'll know when the tank is at or below half and when there is about 1-2 gallons left.- That's all I really want to know anyway.- This works great... When the propane is below the halfway sensor, it will change from 100%to about 50% or less.- From that I know the tank is half or below.- When the bottom sensor changes from 100% to 50% or less, I know there is only one or two gallons left.- There's no need to worry about underneath or lift support clips.- This works great and is easy...- Just move the magnetic sensors from the empty tank to the full tank and go fill up the empty tank. Now rotate the tanks.- The tank vertical tank size doesn't matter since all you want to know is when it's half and when it's almost empty.- See the pics for additional setup and details.I had a bad sensor and Chris at Mopeka was very nice to replace them.- This works well even in the cold as my temps have been in the single digits.- The battery indicator may show less and less as the temp drops, but if it is around 50%, you're OK.
