The Anderson Metals compression fitting is made of brass and connects to National Pipe Taper (NPT) connectors. This 90-degree elbow fitting, also called "ell," connects two pipes at a 90-degree angle to change the direction of flow between pipes. It connects to pipes or tubing on one end and an NPT female connector on the other. This fitting is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel. The operating temperatures range from -65 to 250 degrees F. It is suitable for copper, brass, aluminum, and steel tubing and is for use with water, gasoline, oil, and vacuum lines.

Pipe and tube fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. Compression fittings do not require tools or sealants, and are useful in installations where a heat source, such as a soldering torch, is prohibited. When purchasing fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size, and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness).

Anderson Metals manufactures brass fittings, valves, and pipe nipples. The company, founded in 1951, is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.
