I ordered 3/8 compression to 1/4 inch female npt thread. It fits but the thread is some kind of locking thread. It will not screw on npt

I was looking for a 3/8 female connection to a 1/4 for my RO unit. (Like in the product photo)

Product was supposed to be 3/8 x 1/4. Was actually 3/8 x 5/16. Won’t work for my ice maker waterline. Bag was labeled 1/4 as well so I guess I’m supposed to order a 3/8 x 1/8 to make sure it fits my 1/4 waterline?

I bought 2 pieces to connect the faucet to stop valve, one piece is ok, but the other one has big problem with threading quality, the thread is not sharp and cut correctly, too much brass residuce not being completely cut out, that make it very difficult and tight to screw onto the stop valve, it can go half way only.
